Chapter 17- Maybe Next Time

*Yume's POV*

I was aware of my death.

I felt horrible too.

I had just transplanted Itachi's eyes and now I'm already dead.

I had also left Sasuke alone, so I can't keep the promise we made.

I don't think he can do well on his own. 

Something might happen to him and I can't stop it.

But I'm already dead, there is nothing I can do about it.

"Yume, are you done thinking about Sasuke?" Itachi asked

"Yeah, sorry, Itachi" I sighed, sitting down beside him

"Why are you apologizing? I simply asked a question" Itachi stated then I giggled sheepishly

"That sorry is for...a lot of things" I smiled sadly then Itachi hugged me and petted my head gently

"Yume, you don't have to apologize for dying and not protecting Konoha for me, or dying and no longer being able to look after Sasuke, or dying in the time of the village's need."

"But-"

"You did your best, that's all that matters"

"Okay...."

"Now, since we didn't have much time to catch up when I was training you, how about now? We have all the time in the world, hm?" Itachi smiled softly then I giggled

"Sure, but it'll take me a few more years to relay it to you! I have a good memory, you know?"

"It's not like we have anything else to do" Itachi sighed

"Okay, so it all started the day you left.." I started then he started waving his hands in front of his face in surprise

"We're going that far back??"

"Aren't you the one who said we don't have anything else to do?" I said raising an eyebrow at him then he sighed

".....good point." 

"So after you left, Sasuke became an a-" I started but I lit up all of a sudden

"Itachi- What is happening-?!" I panicked as Itachi kept laughing at me

"Don't worry, it seems that your time isn't over yet" He said with a sweet smile then it turned sad, "I still didn't hear your story.."

I giggled slightly then poked his forehead

"Forgive me Itachi, maybe next time.."
