~~~Judas
"What do we know about the demon general?" I didn't want to get straight to the point like this but I knew the truth of the matter was that I wanted to get off of this planet fast, something was wrong with Monthroe. The way he did things reminded me of Hans, just in a much sneakier way.
Just thinking about him set my blood boiling, just thinking about how he was left to live so long, angered me in ways that I didn't know how to express. 'Judas, why are you so quiet?' I hear Liemaz say. "Nothing. I'm just thinking." I was lying, the truth of the matter was that I had been enraged and she pulled me back from the brink.
Just thinking about pieces of shit like him makes me think of how much the world turns blind to evil. 'Apollos, what did you think of doing?' I heard Liemaz ask me and my response was simple, "We find the bad guy and we take them out. Then afterward, we get on our way."
'So, question? Why is it that you are so much more powerful than the average Monthroian?' "Well, you know where I come from." 'Yes?' "A place much like this but it's called Earth." 'Yes.' "But we should talk about it later," I say to her calmly,  "As much as I'd like to share, there are still many things we must accomplish." As I say this, I allow myself more time to think of our next move.
'Is it true that you were once a hero of the cosmos?' It made me raise my eyebrow but then I said to her, "Do I look like a hero?" "What do you mean?' She says to me. "Liemaz, heroes are individuals who don't come back so do I look like a hero to you?" As I said that to her, I could tell that she was not ready for the response I gave her.
'So, heroes are the ones who don't come back then?' "Yes," I said, calmly. 'So then why did she call you?'  I hear her say and with a cheeky smile she could never see, I say, "She needed somebody who could get the job done. You see how that doesn't make me a hero?" 'I guess that would make sense.' "When it's all said and done, I'm the guy you call to fix somebody's fuck-ups and Monthroe has a lot of them."
'Do you truly believe he has a lot of them?' I calm myself as I say, "Yes. Never ignore the signs of someone who would pull you out of their own life to deal with their problems especially if you hardly know them." 'Are you still holding onto that notion? You've been here for almost five days.' "I don't expect you to know anything like that." 'Well, all I've ever seen is the positive things he'd done. If he's done anything negative, it would take me a while to find it.'
"So, why don't you do that?" I say to her, uncaringly. This isn't something that bothers me, what bothers me is how someone with this power level refuses to deal with the demon generals or maybe it's the soldiers themselves, maybe they're not strong enough. I don't want to help thinking that to myself, The physiological warfare they endured is not easy to handle to any degree. Once you've dealt with it, you either become stronger or you break. The fact that they struggle to handle it shows me they've never had too much to fight for.
It's then that I think, Maybe it's because I've been detached from my humanity. Maybe this is why I'm thinking bout this. I've seen soldiers buckle at something like that. Hell, it's happened to me. That has to be it, I've become detached from my humanity. That has to be the truth, I'm just a beast in the shape of a man.
"Anyway, how far away are we from the fortress?" 'We're about half a day's walk.' "What about if I use my vampiric speed?" 'It's about a 20-minute run. What are you thinking about?' "I think I'm going to go for a walk. Which direction is it in?" She points her finger that way as she says, 'It's pretty much a straight line, but why would you go?'
"I was making sure but Ivar has not returned. I'm going to go and grab him." 'Right, Ivar might be thinking of doing something stupid.' As I walked in that direction, I could feel Ivar's telepathic thoughts being cut off. He didn't want anyone to know where he was but I didn't have to worry about that. This body that I used had acquired plenty of skills. By the time I finished walking, I realized that Ivar was completely by himself.
