It was a hot, sunny afternoon, and me and my friends Ivan, Sandro, and Zane were walking home from school. The bus was having problems. Something about the gas tank leaking or something.
"So," Sandro said. He looked over at me. "How's your mom and the twins?"
When he said "the twins," I felt my heart smile and burn with pride.
"Mom's at 21 weeks," I said. I chuckled. "When she drops things we have to pick them up for her."
My friends chuckled with me.
"We're getting ready to set up the nursery," I said. "We're working on moving Bennet in with Shayne, then we'll set up the nursery in his old room."
Sandro blew out a breath. "That must be rough," he said. "I remember when I had to transition from being the youngest to being the middle kid. It was rough for a while."
"Hm," I said. I felt my brow furrow.
Was that why Bennet was taking so long to warm up to the idea of being a big brother?
