LOST MEMORIES (2)

•───────•°•❀•°•───────•

Ever since you got your memories back, you had become even more distant than before. You hardly spoke to anyone and you barely ate. You grew up thinking that you didn't need friends, but the truth was that you always had someone by your side - your best friend, Yuji.

It was all starting to make sense now, why Yuji had approached you back in school and why he wanted to be friends. You had forgotten about him, but he had never forgotten about you. He had always been there for you, even when you couldn't remember him.

You were currently sitting in your room, absentmindedly staring ahead while gently stroking Saki's hair. She was fast asleep next to you, her small hand holding onto yours. You couldn't help but feel guilty for everything that had happened since your memories had returned.

"I'm sorry, Itadori..." Your voice trailed off, a tear escaping your eye.

"I understand why you did everything...I'm so sorry for not remembering you..."

You let out a sigh and leaned back on your bed, closing your eyes. You were completely lost in your thoughts when you heard a small voice next to you.

"Y/n-nee-chan...?" Saki mumbled quietly, slowly waking up. She rubbed her eyes and you quickly wiped away your tears.

"Yes, little one?" You smiled down at her, relieved to have a distraction from your thoughts.

"Rest with me, please. I want to cuddle you..." Saki pouted and held onto your hand, her big blue eyes pleading. You couldn't say no to her, so you nodded and laid down next to her.

"Of course, darling" You smiled down at her, pulling her close to your body.

"So warm~" She giggled as she snuggled into your chest.

...

"Saki, am I a good sister to you?" You couldn't help but ask, your hand gently stroking her hair. Saki looked up at you with a bright smile.

"Yes. You are the best nee-chan!" Saki smiled widely, nodding her head.

You placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Get some rest okay. I'm not going anywhere..." You said softly as Saki's eyes closed and she drifted off back to sleep.

You watched her peaceful face, a small smile forming on your lips. But deep down, you were struggling to come to terms with everything that had happened. You had always been distant and isolated from others, but now it was even worse. You couldn't bring yourself to talk to anyone. They were all worried sick about you.

Days went by and you just seemed to be getting even more lost. The Exchange event was just a few days away, and you thought it would be a good distraction for you to focus on. But even as you practiced for the event, all you could think about was Itadori.

Megumi and Nobara were doing everything they could to cheer you up. But you couldn't shake off the overwhelming feeling of sadness and worry. You tried your best to keep a brave face, but deep down, you were falling apart.

You decided to head to the field behind the academy to clear your mind. The sun was setting and the sky was painted with hues of pink and orange. You found a spot under a tall tree and sat down, leaning against its trunk. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, trying to push away all thoughts of Itadori.

The day of the exchange event arrived, and you were all standing together, waiting for the arrival of the Kyoto school. The tension was palpable, and you could feel your anxiety rising.

"So you're that interesting first year we've been hearing about?" A tall, muscular guy from the Kyoto school spoke up, eyeing you with curiosity.

You nodded, not wanting to engage in small talk. Your mind was too preoccupied with thoughts of Itadori to care about making conversation.

"They had been telling us about you" He continued, with a smirk on his face.

"But honestly, I don't see why they find you so interesting"

You clenched your fists, feeling a surge of anger towards the arrogant Kyoto student. Before you could respond, Nobara let out a small snicker, causing you to smile despite yourself.

"Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there" You replied calmly, not wanting to show any weakness.

Before anyone could say anything more, Gojo appeared, pushing a metal cart with his usual cheerful demeanor. He was carrying gifts for the Kyoto sorcerers as a show of goodwill.

The metal box opened, and you held your breath as you waited to see what Gojo had prepared for you lot. Your heart skipped a beat when he pulled out a familiar face.

"I present to you, your departed friend, Itadori Yuji!' Gojo exclaimed, beaming as he presented Itadori, who had just popped out of the metal box.

!!!

You couldn't believe your eyes. Itadori was standing in front of you. Your eyes widened in shock as you tried to process what was happening. Was this really happening? Was he really here?

"Itadori...?" You whispered, barely audible, as a tear escaped your eye
