I know moving on would take me a lifetime
Because I know in myself I would not find another you
I wish I had seen it sooner
How you never intended to make this last
Because the last time I fought for us
I saw the conviction in your eyes
Maybe I was just too blind to see
How everything was not meant to be
But I stopped covering my eyes
And started covering my heart instead
Perhaps this way, it would not hurt as much
