"I failed you"

No, love

failed

I failed to see the sadness in your eyes

the sadness in your voice

the sadness in your heart

I failed to see the losing battles you hid so much

I failed to see how tired you were

I failed to see how drained you were

And even though I tried to cover it up so many times,

No matter how much patchwork I've done

I failed to see how you have given up on us long ago

So I am sorry that it took this long

And I am sorry that I held onto nothing for so long

Just know that I tried to fix us in the end

But you can't fix something that doesn't want to be fixed
