arms outstretched
standing on the mountain-top
looking into the sunset
life was beautiful todaymy muscles are sore
the climb was hard
but here I stand
gazing far into the distance
it was worth the effort
now that I'm up here
breathing in the pure air
the wind playing through
my hair and over
my face
all I can think is
life was beautiful todayI might have lost sight
of the final goal
a few times
stumbled and fallen
but I got up again
and climbed on
now I stand here
and it was worth the sweatfrom up here
I can see just how
beautiful
life is
today I conquered
a mountain-top
tomorrow I might find
myself in a valley
where my view is
obscuredthe highest mountains
precede
the deepest valleys
but the best view
comes after the hardest climbI prefer mountains and valleys
to endless plains
give me a challenge
I don't want a placid life
I love looking into
sunrises and sunsets
from mountain-tops
