This is one of the best transmigration/ cultivation/ palace novels on both Wattpad and among the translations that I've read.

I went in thinking it was going to be another one of those books with an OP, number one assassin that reincarnates into another world and kills people left and right for the smallest of offenses. But surprisingly, it ended up being something much more.

Let's talk about the MC first. She's not those vain and arrogant MC's that are no goods but just happen to be lucky to get their hands on a cheat. Even though she's the main character, she actually seems so mysterious and her actions are a little unpredictable. You actually have to keep guessing at what she'll do next in a situation, then end up being surprised when she does something out of your box. But she'll keep surprising you, again and again, no matter how long you've been reading the book.

I'll admit she's a little OP, but in this case, it's alright because her powers have their own limitations. Like for a while, there was a time she couldn't use them at all, and she had to rely solely on regular combat skills and her brain power while up against people who could kill her with just a hit if they managed to land one on her.

But besides the MC, there were many other things to love about the book, too, that make it fresh among others and all the more exciting.

For one, the MC and the Male Lead aren't the only lovable characters with real goals and ambitions in the entire book. The minor and secondary characters were interesting, too. They actually had a life, so they didn't just tag along with the MC to revel in her awesomeness and be her coat hanger wherever she went somewhere. You know a book is good when you realize that you actually care about the secondary characters almost as much as the main characters.

Do you guys remember those pesky villains that just don't know what's good for them or when to die? In this book, there were almost none of those. Every villain had a point for being in the story. And some of them were even fueled by hatred that went beyond the usual jealousy of this person's wealth and power or that person's fiance. It gave them more depth and made them a little interesting, too.

And finally, the Male Lead. I'm 95% sure I know which guy is the Male Lead; there is just one guy that is making me a little doubtful about that, but even if it ends up being him instead, I don't think I would really mind much because both of them are very good characters in their own way. But for the guy that I'm almost completely sure about, I'll say he's that type that is mysterious but also shameless once in a while. I'm not really a fan of shameless Male Leads but this guy actually did it right, as in he did it in a way where I actually didn't want the MC to push him away like I usually would want MCs to do in other C-novels. I'm really rooting for him.

Read this book. Now. You won't regret it. And if you do, time back is guaranteed. Maybe.
