They told me to go for it! Approach him myself, he would never notice me otherwise...I was too quiet.
But -once again- they were wrong. He did notice me...once. Things felt different then.
He had walked to the counter. The cashier's eyes lit up at his presence, like everyone else's. He was so popular, even though he was odd.

I was jealous, but I wasn't angry.
He couldn't help himself, he was just likeable.
While they went about making his order, he crossed a leg over the other, leaned against a side of the counter, and just...observed.
It was inevitable he would see me, but it was my fault I hadn't averted my eyes. I didn't want to. When our eyes met, he smiled.
Smiled.
At me.
He, someone so perfect on the outside, someone I knew couldn't possibly be like me in any way, smiled at me.
Then he turned away.
We didn't meet eyes the next day.
