Let it Defy Gravity

Here something has changed in me,
I no longer want to play by their rules,
I'm done singing about wanting to be free,
No more moments of my heart breaking,
I don't want to go to sleep,
Yet I'm ready to close my eyes and leap;

I'm gonna let it go,
No I won't hold it back anymore,
I'm gonna take my chances,
And hope it lasts,
I'm ready to spread my arms and fly,
For my own humanity,
I'm willing to defy the laws of gravity;

I'm done accepting the limits given,
Cause I know there's things better than the life of livin',
If I have to go out and hurt myself to be loved,
Then I guess I'll never be enough;

I'm ready to embrace the dreams I held on to for years,
To test myself and break free,
For that's what I set out to be;

I'm gonna let it go,
Not gonna hold anything back anymore,
I'm gonna take my chances,
And hope it lasts,
Though not of you have seen me cry,
You're gonna see me fly;

My future is unlimited,
And I once dreamed of this day like it was my prophecy,
I know it sounds crazy,
And my vision may be hazy,
But I swear I'll be up in the sky;

So if you truly want me,
You're gonna have to pray me out of the sky,
But like any baby bird, I must learn to fly,
For the ones who want to ground me,
Listen to the message by me;

Let it go,
Don't hold anything back anymore,
Take your chances,
And hope it lasts,
Spread your arms and fly,
For your own humanity,
Do like me,
And defy gravity;

I'll soon need to say goodbye,
Since I'll let it defy gravity,
Kiss me goodbye,
I'll be flying high,
You won't bring me down;
