Blue

I let the rain pour down on my skin,
So no one sees the tears I've always kept in,
I walk alone,
On a road made of cobblestone,
Even though I would like someone to talk to, at least,
I can finally have peace;

You ask me what's the reason for feeling blue,
I hate to tell you, there's nothing I can do to feel something new,
I wish it wasn't true,
But there's nothing else I rather do,
Than to feel blue;

They say life is too short to even care at all,
But I can't help but feel small,
One day,
I hope my troubles will go away,
But for now, I guess they just need a place to stay;

As darkness falls,
I know no one will hear me at all,
As they're in their warm beds sleeping,
I'll be outside under a street light, crying,
Singing a sad song,
Wishing that the night wasn't so long,
Drinking away my problems from a bottle,
Even though it's a bad thing for me to do,
It helps me fight my battles,
And maybe in the morning,
You'll find me sleeping,
And smiling;

You ask me what's the reason for feeling blue,
I hate to tell you, there's nothing I can do to feel something new,
I wish it wasn't true,
But there's nothing else I rather do,
Than to feel blue;
