Chapter 2

"Emma, have you seen my hairspray!" Sophia called out from her room.

"No, I don't use it. That thing is practically useless to me."I called back.

I heard the sound of her heels clicking and soon I saw her standing behind me in the reflection of the mirror.

Her quick appearing made me jump and I grabbed the can, quickly spraying it all over my hair before she snatched it from my grasp.

"Next time I catch your grubby hands on my hairspray I'll shove it up your-"

"You mean our hairspray?"

She rolled her eyes and walked out but I caught a glimpse of a grin on her face before she disappeared around the corner.

She can never be mad at me, that girl freaking loves me. After I finished up in the bathroom I slipped on my heels and headed out.

The smell of breakfast filled my nose, when I got to the kitchen Sophia had two plates with bacon, eggs, and pancakes.

This is why I love her, if it wasn't for Sophia I would be surviving off of frozen meals.

When we got to the building where the meeting was being held and it looked better in person.

Me and Sophia walked to the entrance along with the rest of our team, all dressed in black.

The glass doors slid open and as we entered a gust of wind breezed past us.

"So what were you saying about my hairspray being useless?" Sophia asked me with a cocky grin.

I held in my laugh as we got to the front desk.
"Good morning Mr.Rogers, you guys must be here for Mr.Anderson." A young lady smiled at us.

She was a bright eyed women with her hair tied neatly in a bun, she reeked of heavy smelling perfume and I held my breath.

She gave us the information we needed and soon we were in the elevator heading to the top floor.

We were able to enjoy the view of the outside world as we moved up to the top floor. As for me I never really was the type to enjoy heights, you could say I had a fear of them.

The meeting moved on slower than I had imagined it to be, but it went well.

According to Antonio, him and I had a few things to discuss about this meeting so while everyone got to go home I had to sit down at a local coffee shop to discuss business matters.

Although I would have preferred to go to a place that held real food, a bagel with some coffee will have to do. Maybe a couple.

I didn't want to be rude by complaining since Antonio was my ride. Sophia had to take my car home since we drove together.

I grabbed some napkins out of the dispensary and when I turned around I bumped into a rock hard chest, causing the napkins to fly out of my hand in each direction possible.

"Great." I mumbled to myself and began picking up the napkins.

"Here let me, it was my fault."

Yeah, you think?

I let him pick up the rest of the rest of the napkins as he apologized.

"No worries, it happens." I shrugged my shoulders as I threw the napkins away. When I turned around and finally got a look at this man I couldn't help but notice how handsome he was.

He was dressed in a long sleeved cream colored turtleneck with a black blazer over it. There was a gold chain hanging above his chest with diamond earrings.

His jeans and shoes were black as well as the shades on his face. It bothered me that I wasn't able to see where he was looking. His face didn't move a muscle and I began to feel a bit awkward.

"Anyways, I got to get back to my table. It was nice bumping into you."

He set his eyes behind me landing them on Antonio. He gave me a slight nod and walked past me, exiting the quiet cafe.

It was nice bumping into you, my goodness Emma, really?

My love life is as good as dead, I been out of the game for way too long to recover any part of it.

I sat back down and we instantly began to talk about the meeting.

Ages later, I was finally laying comfortably in my bed while Sophia was making dinner for the two of us.

You're probably thinking I'm lazy for not helping but Sophia will probably cut my hand off if I tried to help her. I'm convinced she has OCD because if it's not exactly how she wants it, it's hell from there on.

I got behind her bar and made our favorite drink that I call Raspberry Bomb, it's the best thing I've ever created.

After I moved to NYC I worked at a bar in a club for the first three years which I really enjoyed, the more drunk the customers got the better the tips.

Their stories never failed to catch me off guard but there were too many sob stories, each more intense than the last.

I saved up enough to pay off my college expenses and have some left over. Even though I stopped working there, I still go there on my night outs when I feel like driving.

It's better for me to go far out because the level of embarrassment I endured being caught in a drunken state by a former employee is unforgettable.

The employees look up to me and I act as a leader towards them, it's like seeing your teacher having at it in a club.

Me and Sophia moved about an hour away from the club after we took on this job even though we don't live together I tend to stay at her house for long periods of time.

I decided to open up Netflix and browse through the movies from the suggested section while I waited for Sophia.

"Start it over, I just got in here!" Sophia barged in and threw herself over the couch, wasting a little bit of popcorn on the floor.

"Soph, it's still the introduction, they're only showing the names of the cast members."

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms once she set the popcorn down on the table.

"You always do this."

I couldn't help but let out a laugh after she said that. Then she proceeded to ban me from touching the popcorn.
