Aidan's POV:

I'm grounded.

And it's all Jake's fault!

If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have gone to the club, I wouldn't have gotten a fake ID - which dad burned by the way - and I wouldn't have been grounded.

Now I don't have my phone or my laptop or my Xbox or my computer! Nothing!

Mom said that I would get to use my laptop only when it comes to homework and assignments.

I don't even know how long it'd be that way.

Don't worry. Jake had it worse. My subconscious told me.

That's right! Jake wasn't allowed to go outside anymore. He was only supposed to go when it came to university or work but other than that, he had to stay at home.

Plus, mom took everything away from him too. So I'm not alone.

Thankfully, she didn't put a lock on my art room. If she did, I don't know what I would do. At least I have something to pass my time on.

I fell on my bed with a sigh. I closed my eyes and tried to relax but I couldn't because of the fact that someone decided to barge in.

I opened my eyes, annoyed, to see Jake standing in the doorway.

"Done with relaxing?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes at him. "What do you want?"

"Dad's calling you downstairs. And now." He replied.

I sighed again and sat up. "Why?"

"I don't know. You go ask him." He said and left.

I rolled my eyes and got up from my bed making my way downstairs where I saw dad sitting in the kitchen.

"Hey, dad. You called me?" I asked as I sat down across from him.

He nodded and said, "There's something you need to know."

I furrowed my eyebrows and said, "Okay. Know what?"

He was silent for a couple seconds before he shook his head and pulled an envelope out of nowhere.

"This is for you. The orphanage we adopted you from, gave this to us. It was from your mother, Elizabeth Walker. The envelope says to only open it when you turned 15." He said as he handed it to me.

I'm 17. Almost 18.

As if he read my thoughts, he added, "I know I should've given this to you at that age. But something happened and I couldn't give it to you."

"What happened?" I took the envelope from him and felt something solid and rectangular inside it.

"Open the envelope." He said instead of answering my question.

I looked at the back of it where in neat cursive handwriting was written:

My babies.

Wait. Babies? As in more than one?

I looked at dad and started to ask, "Why is there-" He cut me off.

"Just open it and look inside yourself." He said. Clearly, he knew what was in it.

I sighed and flipped it over, opening the fold to reveal a cassette and a picture.

"What?" I mumble to myself as I furrowed my eyebrows and took them out. I looked at the picture first.

There was a man who had brown hair and dark brown eyes. He had an oval face and high cheekbone. He was sitting beside a woman who was laying in a hospital bed. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, a round face and a slight dimple on one of her cheek.
