" morning beautiful " The boy said in a raspier voice than usual as her eyes fluttered open . As soon as he said that the events of last night cane flooding back and she began tracing his abs and over his chest as she said " morning " As she stared at him lovingly " your staring again " " I'm gazing " " it's cute " The two giggled as she said " ok I'm gonna get showered and ready and I'll meet you downstairs ?" He nodded as the two parted .
As she came down the stairs she heard the boys laughter and teasing as she walked into the kitchen . As all heads snapped to her Paul spoke up " walk of shameeeeee !!" He teased as she quipped back " stride of pride my darlings " She said giggling as she perched on embry's knee as he said " I see you've stolen my T-shirt again " " you see correctly " She said in a posh voice as the two giggled As she picked up a piece of toast and had a small bite he came from the side and had it out of her hand as she shoved his head jokingly . It was clear to everyone that the two seemed closer and their bond had been solidified.
After breakfast Sam got the attention of everyone . " I've decided that today we should test Layla's powers and see how well she can defend herself and your all gonna help " They all nodded in excitement but Layla tensed as embry felt it and put his arms around her waist and gently moved his thumb back and forth .
As they all stood outside the house they had tried a few things but her powers weren't as strong as they were before her parents died . Sam then had an idea ... he had to channel it by angering her. He pack linked the boys and they nodded as she looked confused . As Paul and embry began to phase and scrap around the grass , she didn't know it wasn't real , because it looked real . " stop !!!" She yelled as she refrained from using magic " what if embry left you " Sam said " what if one of them kills the other " He hated having to anger the girl and say such vile things but he knew it was the only way to break down the wall and access her powers again . As he taunted a powerful wind struck up and leaves and branches began swirling as the boys stopped but as she shut her eyes she yelled " I SAID STOP !!!!!!" And with that a powerful burst emitted from her as everyone was floored . Once she calmed down she said " oh my god what did I do " As she covered her mouth . The boys ran into the forest and phased back as the boys still on the floor groaned and got up . "Holy crap Layla remind me never to get on your bad side " Jared added genuinely a little scared .
After a few rounds of harnessing her powers Sam told her she would have to defend someone else . " I'll do it " Embry said as he stepped forward " I'll attack " Jacob said as he also stood forward and she said " no Jake your gonna get hurt , I'm not ready to do this " She begged but he had already phased as he stood and began running towards a human embry call as he floored him Embry groaned and looked at Layla accusingly " I'm sorry I said I wasn't ready!!" " Jake ... she needs more incentive " Sam barked as embry got up and the girl emitted a transparent wall and as Jake ran into it he fell back feeling electric jolts . Sam nodded at him again as he lunged and was a millimetre from embry as Layla then made Jacob fall back and scream as she popped blood vessels in his brain over and over due to his accelerated healing . She stopped and said " Sam ... I think I've done enough " " ok training is done for the day " He said as him and Emily left to go back inside.
After Jacob came out of the forest in his human form Layla envelopes him in the biggest hug as she said " I'm sorry I had to hurt you " " I didn't give you a choice , I chose to help with your training ... besides I wanna tell you ... your a badass " " thanks Jake " The girl said cheered up as she walked back to embry who threw her over his shoulder and span her round as he yelled giggling " witwoooo look at my girl go !!" As she smacked his chest a few times and he finally let her down as he put his arm around her and they walked inside still laughing and giggling like children .
