Spring

I was born
on the dawn
of springtime
when the world
was about to wake
from a deep slumber.

My breath
was taken
from the sigh
of the wind,
whispering
from the trees.

My hands
are taken
from the waking creatures,
slowly making its way
to the warmth
of the forgotten sun.

And my heart
was taken
from the silent cries
of ice breaking,
about to thaw
from your love.
