Once Namjoon arrived in America, he called Gianna and asked her to pick him up from the airport. It was super late and she was annoyed with him because she knew what he did in Korea since Mary had told her about it.

"Namjoon, I'm only helping you because I know you have no one else to call here and getting into an Uber isn't appropriate for a celebrity but I'm not happy with you," Gianna said with her arms crossed.

"I owe you big time Gianna. Thank you so much for coming despite it being late and you being mad at me."

"Just get in the car," she said annoyed.

They walked to Gianna's car, packed the suitcases in the trunk, and drove to a hotel nearby Mary's house. Namjoon was going to spend the night there and Gianna told him she'd pick him up in the morning to drop him off at Mary's university on her way to her own college. He thanked her and told her goodnight. Once he arrived at the hotel room and changed into his sleeping attire, he tapped his bracelet once to tell Mary "Hello" but no response. He then drifted off to sleep.

The following morning, just like Gianna had told him, she picked him up from the hotel and drove him to Mary's university. Gianna had Mary's schedule on her phone for emergencies and she sent it to Namjoon so he knew when her classes would be over and where she would be coming out from. As soon as he stepped on campus, some girls spotted him and swarmed him! They screamed with excitement, asked for photographs, and asked for autographs. Soon enough, there was a huge crowd of adoring fans forming around him. He tried to get past the crowd but they wouldn't let him leave. Eventually, someone from the crowd grabbed onto his wrist and pulled him out. Once away from the group of people, he saw that it was a young man who had pulled him out of there and they continued running before hiding in an empty classroom.

"Thank you young man for taking me away from those people."

"I know why you're here," the young man told him.

"Oh, you do?" Namjoon asked him.

"First, allow me to introduce myself," he said as he reached out his hand for a handshake, "My name is Kevin and Gianna is my soulmate. Obviously, she has told me about you and Mary along with the tour."

"So I'm assuming you attend this university too?"

"Yes, I am a student here. I'm assuming you're here because you want to find Mary."

"That's correct, can you help me? I don't know the campus and the people won't leave me alone."

"Lucky for you, I have an extra sweatshirt you can wear to cover yourself."

Kevin pulled out an oversized black hoodie from his gym bag and handed it to Namjoon. He put it on and then Kevin suggested adding some sunglasses to further cover his face.

"That should be good enough to avoid getting swarmed again," Kevin told him with a smile.

"Thank you so much Kevin. It's been a pleasure."

"Here's my number in case you get lost on campus," he said as he wrote his number down on an index card.

"Why are you helping me?"

"Mary helped me at one of the lowest points in my life and it was because of her that I'm here today and that I found Gianna. Nothing I do will ever repay her for helping me but helping her soulmate is a start."

"That sure does sound like something she would do. Anyway, thanks for the help man, I owe you."

"Don't stress. Let me know if you need anything else."

Kevin gave Namjoon a quick crash course of the school's campus before they said their goodbyes and he headed off to find Mary. He decided that the best time to approach her would be during her lunch break in between classes. While he waited for her lunch time, he decided to spend some time reading in the library. After reading, he went to look for Mary's classroom and waited in the hallway for her class to be over.

Eventually, the door to her classroom opened and the students began pouring out. Mary was the last one to leave and Namjoon followed her until she was relatively away from other people. She eventually walked through a secluded area of campus and Namjoon spoke to her.

"Hey Mary," he said.

Mary turned around and Namjoon took off his sunglasses and hoodie to reveal his face. Mary smiled for a split second before she remembered what he did back in Korea and her face grew angry.

"What are you doing here?" she asked him.

"I thought you'd be happy to see me," he told her with a frown on his face.

"Namjoon, I can't just forget that you lied about your injury and only thought about yourself. Remember how I said you interfered with my life? You're doing it again! I only have a half hour to eat lunch and now I'm taking up time talking to you. Please, just go."

"But Mary, I just want to go back to how we were."

"There you go again, you want to go back to what we were. What about me? Don't you care about what I want?"

"I thought you'd want the same thing," he said as he lowered his head and hid his hands in the hoodie's pockets.

"I want to feel as more than your puppy that follows you around. I did everything for you back in Korea; I gave up my life for several months for you. I set aside my morals, my parents, and my best friend for you. And then, instead of letting me come back to my life, you thank me by lying to keep me there longer? And for what? To keep caring for you like a servant that you no longer need? Like I told you before Namjoon, you're being selfish. Coming here to talk to me is to make yourself feel better, you're not thinking about me."

"Mary, it's not like that at all. I just..."

"Save it. Just go, please," she interrupted him.

They stood there awkwardly in silence for several seconds.

"Fine then Joon, if you don't want to leave then I will."

She began to walk away but Namjoon grabbed her hand to stop her.

"Saranghae Mary. I really really love you."

He let go of her hand and Mary froze in her step and said nothing. Seeing that he wasn't getting a response, he tapped his bracelet three times and Mary's bracelet buzzed. She didn't tap him back and walked away. Namjoon didn't chase after her and he put on the hoodie and sunglasses again before dialing Kevin. He told Kevin what happened and Kevin asked him to meet up for lunch after he finished his classes for the day.

Later on, Kevin and Namjoon met up at a restaurant not too far from the university. Kevin asked Namjoon to explain how he felt about everything that had happened so far. After that, Kevin asked him about the moments that made Mary the happiest ever since they had been together. Namjoon told him about the night they opened the bracelets and how that had been the happiest he had ever seen her.

"I think I have an idea on how you two can get back together," Kevin told him.

"What is your idea?" Namjoon asked with a curious expression on his face.

Kevin told him about his idea and Namjoon didn't think it would work but that it was worth giving it a shot. They planned for it to happen later that night.

In the late afternoon, Mary was back in her apartment doing schoolwork when Kevin texted her. They texted back and forth a bit.

Kevin: Hey Mary! I know it's been a while but I need help with a school project. I'm making a short film for one of my film classes and I need to shoot a scene at this one place close to your house. Can you please help me? I need an actress.

Mary: Sure Kevin! I'd love to help you out. Is there any particular outfit I should wear for your film's theme?

Kevin: I need you to wear a casual but formal outfit.

Mary: Ok sounds great! Send me the information and I'll see you later! I'm going to speedrun through the assignment I'm finishing so I can dedicate my time to you.

Kevin: Thank you so much Mary! I'll send you the information shortly.

A couple minutes later, Kevin sent her the address of where they were going to film. She picked out her outfit and drove over.
