y/n was relaxing in her room, flipping through random pages of a magazine. jasper still hadn't returned from his random trip so she got up and decided to finish her scrapbook project.  she wrote mini messages on each page with a heavy heart that no longer beat.

'dear bree,

i'm sorry i couldn't be the elder sister i should've been. i'm sorry i didn't look after you the way i should and i'm sorry you went missing it's my fault and i'm sorry. i can't believe i was such a useless elder sister and i promise if i ever meet you i'm never letting you go.

if you are in heaven, i hope you're watching me write this. you're watching me and i hope to god that you forgive me because you will always be my little sister whom i love dearly.

y/n'

the newborn was distraught after she wrote the letter and angrily slammed the scrapbook shut. furiously, she sat on her bed and squeezed her eyes shut and thought about the night her and bree argued.

' "you can't go with me, oh my god!' y/n groaned, putting on her bag, "i have a ride with my friends and mom is coming to get you in twenty minutes. you're not coming with me to the cinema!"

"y/n but it's windy and cold plus you heard about the people going missing. it's scary and dark, please i've got my own money and i'll sit far away frim you and your friends. don't leave me." bree begged, her long brown hair being tossed around.

"y/n, you coming?" a boy called out and when he did, y/n blushed.

"sorry bree, i gotta go. i'll see you at home."  y/n waved goodbye to her sister and got into the seat beside the raven haired boy, who wrapped his arm around y/n's waist. the car drove and bree watched her sister drive off in the cold rain.

that was the last time bree was seen alive.'

she blamed herself greatly for the disappearance of her sister and even more for the death of her parent and other sister. bree's case has been open but it was a cold case.

y/n knew it wouldn't be long until the seattle police department label it a closed case.

y/n's emotions were going wild. she hadn't mastered the talent of calming her own emotions and with the already short temper she had as a result of being a newborn and jasper's sudden disappearance, y/n was going crazy.

she got up in a rush and was about to jump out the window, but someone grabbed her arm, "y/n?"

"jasper," y/n could recognise his voice from anyway. she turned around and hugged him sadly, "where'd you go?" she whispered into his shoulder, breathing in his mesmerising scent.

he smiled weakly, "i went to hunt then i realised that j.jenks had the final form ready. i wanted to come get you but i assumed you were resting." he picked her up effortlessly and lay down on the bed.

"even if i was, i'd come with you and you know that." y/n said softly. she had already calmed down even with jasper trying to work his magic.

"wanna talk about it?" he asked her, slowly rubbing her back and she shook her head no, "then do you wanna go over some school work? carlisle said whenever you can be near humans you'll be enrolled as a junior-"

"junior year again?" she leaned up and looked at him with fond eyes.

"yes again," he drew circles on her hand, "i'll be there as a senior so don't worry about boys, i'll protect you." she giggled and he stared at her with loving eyes. the room fell silent for a few seconds before y/n got shy.

"what?" she asked, unable to look directly in his beautiful golden eyes.

"nothing, you're just beautiful." he whispered, "so beautiful." she looked up at him and shook her head softly and he cracked a small smile, "let's go to my room, i've got the curriculum for your last few months of senior year."

"great school." she jokingly groaned, following him all giddy after their little moment.
