"You're thoughts kill you don't they?"

When people hear about overthinking,
They think people going through it are just being dramatic
Or they just want attention.
But what do they really know about overthinking?

How could they understand your brain
Running at a 1000 miles an hour,
Telling you everything you aren't,
Picking at all your insecurities.
Overanalyzing every situation you go through in a day.

How could they understand the voices in your head?
When they invade your thoughts making you feel shitty all over again.

How could they understand the things that go through your mind when you finally meet someone who's genuine and
The voices in your head won't stop shouting,
" you're not good enough"
"they don't want you"
"they are just like the others"
And you sit there believing
You push that person away out of fear that  you'll get hurt all over again.

Just that feeling of rejection stings you  hard in the chest so much that tears roll out of your eyes,
So much you scream realizing you hurt the one person who truly wanted to know you.

But that wasn't your intention,
You're just shielding yourself from this cruel world,
But you still blame it on you
Because in the end you just wanted to love that one person that could have been your forever.

And now you're left there broken with those thoughts in your head
Still overthinking.
