[Scene cuts to Hiccup trekking through the forest again. Hiccup is weighing the bola with his hands.]
Stoick: You went after that dragon?! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!
Hiccup flinched and Astrid hugs him.
Hiccup: So, why didn't you?
Fishlegs: Yeah, why didn't it?
[Hiccup enters a cove, surveying its emptiness.]
Hiccup (cont.): Well, this was stupid.
Snotlout: Pfft. Of course, it's stupid.
Clara glared at the Jorgenson.
[He finds some shiny black dragon scales on the floor. He picks one up. The Night Fury swoops past him, but falls back onto the ground, trying to settle down on the cove.]
The Vikings were startled when they saw Toothless fly past Hiccup.
[Hiccup hides at the entrance and tries to make a sketch of it.]
Hiccup (cont.)Why don't you just... fly away?
Everyone looks closer to see the problem.
[As he makes a sketch, he notices the Night Fury is missing one of its tail fins.]
Everyone gasped as they knew the reason.
[He erases the fin on his drawing but he slips and drops his pencil, drawing the Night Fury's attention. It stares up at him in recognition.]
The Vikings are getting nervous hoping that the dragon won't hurt Hiccup.
