Chapter 7 ==Lunch with Grandfather==

"Your not gonna have lunch with us?"

I heard father said as he stared at my appearance that is dressed up accordingly for Grandfather's liking

"Where will you go? Do we have to teach you all the family rules again?"he ask me as I sighed loudly and stared at him

"Grandfather asked for me, he invited me to dine with him this lunch and I don't have the position to decline"hearing my words he stiffen

Grandfather....is someone to be feared at.... And father knows it best how ruthless the previous Grandduke is

"Fine....you can go now" I bowed at him after hearing his approval "I'll see you at dinner father"I stated and went out seeing Father's sad face

Why?

Because Grandfather never have asked for father to dine with him in private

Father doesn't have any siblings and thus he inherited the Duchy and of course with some extreme training in it

But never did they once had a dinner in private other than banquets or family gathering that's it!

In father's eyes, my meeting with grandfather made him feel small especially on how I'm different from them

And he never had once have dinner with him even though he became the empire's hero,a businessman, a genius ....grandfather never looked at him that way

Especially that he didn't even met his own mother....

The only daughter on her time and thus she inherited the Duchy, but what confuses is that not even once she went out of the house

When they got married with only grandmother's parent's are present they were wed

But I don't know why there's no a single portrait of her in the house,not even one

And Father doesn't even know his own mother, because the only one who raised him is Grandmother's nanny who died when Father was 18

I don't know why grandfather hid grandmother's existence....but it is a mystery

"Welcome Young Lady Alyssa, Your Grandfather is waiting in the dining hall" the same maid who delivered the letter yesterday told me

I bowed at her as she did the same as I walked in Grandfather's private dining hall, that noone has ever stepped foot other than him

Even maids can't serve him inside.... it's like there's something hidden

I walked in the West Wing's halls until I saw the signboard that said 'Dining Hall'

I looked around to see that the place is quite empty, I walked near the door and breathed loudly before knocking the door

"You can come in Alyssa" I heard Grandfather's cold voice said, Grandfather who is supposedly be the Emperor of the western Empire Because out of all of his siblings he is the one who is worthy for the throne

I slowly opened the door and saw him in the long table....this is the first time I've saw him

Him with Sharp Gray Eyes and white hair...and fair skin...even his skin is already old along with his face that is full wrinkles

"I greet Grandfather a pleasant noon"I greeted as I bowed at him "Good Noon to you too,come and eat Lunch with me"he said as I raised my head "Ok Grandfather"I said and went to seat in one of the chairs in the table

Which is beside Grandfather since the plate was set up in there

My eyes roam around to see that there's no portrait of grandmother....did they have a fight?

"You must be confuse to why I invite you here today Alyssa"he suddenly said as my gaze diverted to his presence

"I am indeed Grandfather, even father is confuse why"I responded as I ate some vegetables in my plate

It's obvious I'm confuse because never in the 16 years that grandfather will notice my existence

"I see,even Edward is curious why I invited his young daughter to dine with me"he stated as he smiled lightly

I raised my right brow seeing grandfather's expression...wait...he likes father?

"May I ask a question Grandfather?"I ask "of course"he responded back as I took a huge breath

"Do you know anything about my golden eyes in our family?"I ask him as he stopped his hand from moving

"Your curious about that? Your not even curious about your own grandmother?"he ask me as I smiled lightly

"I'm curious about grandmother as well, but nothing makes me more curious about the origin of my golden eyes"I told him seriously

"I see, I don't know about it's origin but I know someone who has the same eye color"as he said those words I raise my brow

"Who?"

"It's not time for you to know, you first need to show me everything you've known"he stated as I blinked my eyes in confusion

"I have to prove myself to you? What should I even show to you?"I asked him as he gave me a smile

"It depends on the situation and since my hands are completely free right now, you need to visit me atleast 2 times a week and in that short period of time you just prove yourself to me"He told me as I laugh lightly

"And why should I do that?"

"Do you want to know anything about your eyes?"he asked me as my body stiffen at his question

I want to.... because Alyssa is desperate to know...

I only slowly nodded as I could see his smirk "Then, you must prove yourself to me wether in mental or physical skill, anything is fine"he stated as he drank his drink

"And could you give me an example on what I will do?"

"An example? How about a game of chess?"he told me as I only laugh lightly

This old man really spied on me and reported it much more accurately for grandfather

But why?

Why would he do this?
