Chapter 52 ==Proposal==

"My Muse!!"

My eyes widen as I looked down at the balcony to see Kian, hiding by the trees, and he is looking at my direction and I look at him as well

His handsome looks was shined by the moonlight, wearing a black shirt and some pair of brown jeans and he is wearing a brown cloak and he is hiding by the tree

"What are you doing here?" I asked him in a not so loud voice, afraid that someone would hear our conversation, he then slowly revealed himself to me,

"I came to check you out, to see whether the King had actually propose as what you had told me"

Hearing his words, I rolled my eyes and could only shook my head of how childish he can be, "You would actually risk being seen just so you can witness the proposal?" I told him, actually wanted to say it as a joke,

"I would risk anything if it's for you..."

Hearing his words, we then stared at each other, none are willing to bring the contact, as he let then let out a small smile,

"Lady Alyssa?"

Our eye contact broke, as I turn to look at my back and saw the King, "Your majesty" I greeted, curtsied at him as he bowed at me, I then turn to look at Kian, who looks uneasy

"I'm sorry" he mouthed before he actually then disappeared to who knows where, making me confuse to his words, but I decided to ask him later and focus to the King

"Can I join you here?" He asked me as he then slowly walked towards me, and leaned at the edge of the cemented railings, right beside me

"Sure your majesty," I responded as I then distanced myself from him, trying not to be near as possible, as it makes me uncomfortable

"Did the party bore you?" He asked as he stared at the sky, admiring the stars

"Yup, I don't know how other ladies enjoy this kind of things" I responded as I rolled my eyes and then let out a small smile

"True, the party is quite boring"

"You'll be going back to the northern kingdom, tomorrow right?" I ask him as he nodded, I stared at him, awaiting for his response

"Half a year have gone so soon, it's been a while since I stepped foot in my kingdom" He responded as he then look at me, who let out a smile

"Do you love your kingdom, your highness?" I asked him, not breaking eye contact,

"I do, and I'm willing to die if it's for my kingdom, I'm willing to give up everything for it" he said, I could see how sincere he was, I then break the eye contact and let out a chuckle, he then looked at me a confuse look

"What's so funny?"

"You reminded me of someone" I started as I then let out a small laugh "..he deeply loved his family and is willing to risk everything, even if it cost his own life" I stated, and I could feel my heart breaking

"Is he your past lover?"

Hearing his question, I froze... though it's true that Lex is my past lover, but in this world, it's unusual for a lady who has an another lover unless it's a gentleman who is asking for her hand in marriage, especially that I'm just a lady who just debuted almost a year ago

"Though I want to deny it but... yes... he is my past lover, who died" I explained, I don't know why I want to open some of my past for him, when he is nothing more but an acquaintance

"But do you still love him?"

Again I was taken aback by his question again, why does he had a lot of some sensitive questions,

"I loved him... it was in the past" I honestly responded, emphasizing the word 'Loved', I just know that I'm feeling down now... really really down, I'm not fond of opening up some of my personal stuffs but for some reason I want to tell this young man my thoughts

"But-"

"I wonder if life will be much more bearable when you went back to where you came from" I cut him off, afraid that he'll asked some more questions that are hard to answer

"What do you mean, my lady?"

"I mean, with you here, things are quite difficult for me... as I am aware of your affections for me as well for Prince Benjamin, people tend to talk about my circumstances" I honestly said, as I awkwardly laugh

"With you gone, I have an another suitor to take care of" I added as I looked at him who is suddenly silent,

"So you are aware of my affections towards you?" He asked me, hearing his words, I then scoff and shook my head

"I mean, didn't you practically announced to everyone that you wanted me to be your queen? Everyone in the whole kingdom knows, I bet even the other kingdoms know as well, knowing those people who had nothing to do other than to gossip" I jokingly said, which is practically true

"Then... would you accept if I will ask you to be my Queen?" He asked me, as I then went silent.... As if that I'll need to think about it first

"Before I'll answer, can I ask one question?" I asked him

"Sure, ask me anything" he is ready for any question I ask, I can see it in his eyes that he is serious on making me his Queen,

"Why me?" I asked him, looking at him seriously, as he is the only suitor that I have which I don't know the reason why he likes me as I've already know of how Prince Benjamin likes me through the books, and Kian who is Lex, who had always love me, according to him, and also the Marquis, which has the same reason as Prince Ben, and the only one left is the King

To find out, I ask the same question I've ask the Marquis, they are quite honest to me, because they hold affections for me,

"Out of all the ladies in the world, I kept on wondering... why do you like me? If you wanted to marry a Silverton... why mis it me? And not my sister who is obviously much more beautiful, elegant, and smarter than me?" I asked him

He then knelt down, took my hand and kissed it, he then stared at me with his sky blue eyes, looking with my golden one,

"Because I love you, there are no other reasons... I have always love you, my Alyssa" he said as he looked at me with loving eyes and kiss my hand again,

He then took something in his pocket,

"I'll ask again, Would you be my Queen?" He asked me,

I then smiled, "Give me a reason to accept your proposal then"

"Because you've loved me"

I furrowed my brows upon hearing his words, I loved him?

"Pardon?"

"I've missed you my Red, and like I said... I've always love you, and from your words... you still love me... come with me back to my home, where there's no one else but us" He stated letting out a small smile

Wait... he's Lex?!?!

Isn't Kian supposedly be Lex?!!

Why is the King insisting that he is?!?

"Lex?!"

As I uttered his name, he let out a genuine smile, "So you still remembered me... I've missed you, my little red" he said as he then placed the ring in my finger and then gave me a hug

"I've been wanting to embrace you ever since I've came here and saw you" he whispered

As I am still trying to process what I've just know... how on earth is he Lex?!?!

I don't know who to trust...

Whether it's him...

Or Kian...

I'm confuse to the both of them!!!!
