Chapter 9: The Final Straw

"Disappeared?"

Everyone looked at the space Whitebeard previously stood at. Marco was the first to react, his anger evident in his posture. His winged arm rammed right into Blackbeard's neck, flipping him."TEACH!"

The rest of the commanders jumped right into the action, attacking without mercy. "What did you do to Oyaji?"

A layer of darkness overlapped the commanders's foothold, swallowing them in but they jumped out of the way. The Whitebeard pirates have abandoned fighting the marines and instead, were targeting Blackbeard and his crew.

Sakura didn't know what's happening. Did Whitebeard disappear because of Blackbeard? That would explain their anger. He did seem like he had a weird devil fruit so it was possible. Does he want something from old man? Sakura's thoughts were cut off by bullets. The marines were crossing though Aokiji's ice to reach her after Mihawk separated the lands. They weren't intervening with the commanders fights which told Sakura that may be the reason behind Kizaru's cocky grin. Don't tell me Kizaru is expecting them to take out each other? It was the perfect plan since they were more focused on revenge than safety. Kizaru flashed her a wave, sending an entire army towards her.

Shit. She had to retreat fast. Oars had been frozen but at least he destroyed their cannons so there were less damages now.

"Don't just stand there! Get onboard! Did you forget our captain's final order?" Doma, one of the fourty three allied captain ordered despite his own confusion, dispersing the pirates into action.

"Don't let the pirates escape!"

"Finish off every last one of them!" They fired their guns.

Sakura was on it again, dodging every bullet that headed her way. If I walk on sea, the marines and logia users won't be able to catch me since they are hammers. It was the most solid plan she had. She just needed to get there.

As she reached the edge, the pirates on board beckoned her to come on but Sakura didn't have a good feeling about it. Unfortunately, her great idea had failed thanks to a certain admiral. The whole ocean froze and the ship were immobilized, stretching far enough for Sakura to know she can't walk on water anymore. If Aokiji wasn't here, this would have been a victory for her. She would have been long gone, unable to be reached. The only person who may had a chance to catch up to her would be Kizaru but she was confident enough that he wouldn't risk fighting her in water.

She steered, trying to come up with another plan and to avoid an admiral. The ground ahead of her erupted, melting and boiling in fiery. Sakura knew this energy well... the enemy she didn't want to fight.

"I said I wouldn't let him escape. Why don't you just give up on life already, you imbecile?" Akainu was in the middle of that thick, flowing substance. His face different shades of red, glaring at her. "Hand the son of Dragon over to me!"

The black smoke made it difficult for her to see beyond him. Her eyes trailed at the fissure on the ground. He must have traveled underground by melting a path with his magma. "And why are you holding Fire Fist?"

Beads of sweat trailed down her head, whether from the heat or nervousness, she wasn't sure. Sakura tried to divert his attention of the fact both were alive. "I'm taking Fire Fist corpse away from his murderer! And I won't give up Luffy."
