It doesn't have to mean only absence of light.
It can mean the bad things that are happening In your life
In this world
All this strife
All evil that has been done
Sin
Define how we usethe word Light
Not only brightness
The good things that happen in life
A smile
A saved face from God's grace
Nature in its prime state Happiness
