"These dreams.. When did they begin?"

"Right after my brother's death."

And I got the same response like from my last therapist. And the one before her.

"It must be because of the trauma."

No.

It was different.

It was a rainy day in New York city. Our climate is ruined, I don't remember the last time the weather was clear.

Pulling out my umbrella as I left my therapy session, I put on my favorite song.

Sigh.

Audrie and I listened to this in his car, every day.

Right after his death, I started having dreams of flying.

Sooner or later, you'd have to wake up tho.

Every time I would wake up, I would wish to go back there. Away from this place.

But then..

It's not real.

I want them gone.

It was late at night. There was no one in sight on the roads. Just the ordinary peaceful walk I had every night.

"Stop! Let me go..!"

I heard from the distance. Taking one earbud out to go check it out, I quickly closed my umbrella.

As I approached the noise, I saw a girl.

She wasn't alone.

Someone was trying to strangle her.

My legs acted on their own, and before I knew it, I knocked out the man in front of her with my umbrella.

He fell to the ground. "Are you oka-" I questioned the girl, but she didn't seem happy about me saving her.

"Are you crazy?! You could've killed him! Oh, Robert.." She said waking him up.

"But he was.. strangling you." I said backing away a little.

They both stood up, and before they could walk away the girl just took my umbrella from me, hitting me with it.

I fell on the cold ground on my side. As I was trying to get up, I was knocked back down when the girl threw the umbrella at me.

"That's what you get, brat!" The big man said as they both walked away.

I laughed as I laid on my back.

Stupid bitch.

"Yea, don't expect me to help you next time, bitch!"
I yelled as the cold rain droplets fell on my face.

My smile faded as I stared into the dark sky, filled with stars of different size.

Our earth might be ruined, but the stars are still there

My view was blocked, by 2 tall men in suits.

"Y/N L/N?" One of them questioned.

"Who's that?" I questioned.

They shared a look before the other one said. "That's her."

I rolled my eyes "Fuck off, you're ruining my night."

"It's about your brother."

...

They took me to some weird building. It was huge.

They were telling me about the mission my brother was suppose to attend to, on another planet called Pandora.

"Your brother was really hyped to go to that planet. Too bad he couldn't make it." One of the guys said.

"Yea, he didn't talk much about it at home. " I could feel their glare on me as I said that.

We stopped talking when we approached a huge box on top of those hospital beds with wheels.

They sighed before one of the workers opened the box, revealing my brothers dead body.

I stared at his cold face. "Audrie.." I didn't
cry. I didn't show any emotion. That's the last thing he would want , for someone to pity him.

Especially me.

"Audrie was going to be sent to Pandora as a medic for the soldiers. You attend NY Medical highschool. Are we correct?" One of the men said, as they closed the box.

I nodded my head in response. "We'll get to the point. We want you to go to Pandora instead of him. "

I stayed quiet. The thought of leaving earth was amazing. I have no one here anyway.

"It's what Audrie wanted."

"And the payment is good."

"Very good."

Silence.

The 2 men sighed, before I broke the silence.

"I'll go."

"One of them." Neteyam S.Where stories live. Discover now
