yuri wrote this song back in 2021 and ended up giving it to the company to use for another artist since she wasn't thinking of releasing it herself.
coincidentally, jungkook, while working on golden, was presented the lyrics of the song and he immediately wanted it to be on his album— not knowing that his own girlfriend wrote it. he only found out when he heard the rough demo she had recorded for it two years prior.
after finding out, he made up his mind. he would only do the song if yuri was going to feature on it. obviously, when he asked her, she agreed, later revealing that the song had been written about him.
