Though the car was parked on the side and hardly any cars passed by, it was almost dark, so Nie Jiuluo took out the fluorescent triangular warning sign from the car and set it up on the side facing oncoming traffic. Then, holding a handheld flashlight, she walked towards the incident.

On the way, she picked up a stone.

As soon as she reached the edge of the wild hemp field, she heard Lao Qian's voice coming from deep within, "Oh my, young man, what... what's happened?"

Nie Jiuluo followed the voice and took a few quick steps forward, only to see a white SUV, very familiar, and looking at the front of the car, there was a bullbar.

Was that Yan Tuo?

The driver's door was open, and Lao Qian stood at the doorway, rubbing his hands in confusion, "I haven't learned first aid. Should we not move the injured person? Shouldn't we call 120?"

Nie Jiuluo walked to the driver's side door and raised the flashlight to look inside: the car's airbags had already deployed, and Yan Tuo was lying face down on the steering wheel, blacked out, or rather, unconscious would be more accurate.

His breathing sounded smooth, not like someone with heavy injuries struggling to breathe. Nie Jiuluo instinctively looked at the passenger seat.

The rubber duck wasn't as lucky. Obviously, its body didn't fit well with the seatbelt, so when the impact happened, it fell underneath the seat, headfirst.

Next to the rubber duck, there was something reflecting a metallic glint.

Nie Jiuluo threw the stone, pushed aside the airbag, and reached in to pick up the object.

It was a hand-held syringe, but it was different from the disposable medical ones. The needle was thicker, and the body was made of stainless steel with a glass scale tube. There was still a significant amount of the brownish liquid inside, rippling slightly.

Turning the body of the syringe, she saw a steel stamp on the upper back position. Typically, stainless steel products had brand logos or the word "304" to indicate quality, but this stamp was a small seal script character for "fire" - you don't need to know seal script, because it's not much different from modern fonts.

Lao Qian gasped, "This... drug use?"

He hadn't seen drugs before or how they were used, but he knew about "injection" from news reports. Seeing Yan Tuo unconscious, Nie Jiuluo repeatedly examining the syringe, he couldn't help but start to think in a bad direction.

Nie Jiuluo chuckled a bit, gesturing towards the needle, "The inner diameter is over a millimeter. It's too thick, obviously not for human use."

As she spoke, her gaze fell on the back of Yan Tuo's neck. He was lying face down, so the needle mark on the back of his neck wasn't hard to find.

Hearing her speak so confidently, as if she was quite professional, Lao Qian relaxed without realizing it. Just as he was about to say something, Yan Tuo groaned and struggled to lift his head.

Lao Qian was both surprised and nervous, "Young man, are you okay? Hey, hey, don't move too much..."

Yan Tuo felt a buzzing in his ears, the voices sounded loud, his head throbbed, his vision fluctuated between light and darkness, his body felt floaty, and the ground didn't seem flat anymore, swaying left and right. He fumbled to unbuckle his seatbelt, stepped out of the car in a big stride, almost stumbling, and barely managed to stand upright. After a moment, he felt nauseous, bent over, and retched a few times, muttering vaguely, "Where is this..."

Lao Qian was genuinely caring, with his hands held out as if ready to protect a calf, like a big goose protecting its gosling, afraid that he might fall. "Young man, you've been in a car accident, don't walk too fast. It's best not to move too much. Come, sit down first, take it slow."
