It's been over two hours

I just want to be at home with Belle in my arms but I'm not because people keep pissing me off so we have to restart the tasks over and over

fucking hell

we're finally down to the last two people

"3..2..1 start!" Joel one of the recruiters yells

we have a girl and a boy fighting with knives the first one to get stabbed is out unless the fight lasts for more than 20 minutes then both recruits are in

after 7 minutes the girl stabbed the boy in his arm receiving a yell from him

thank fuck we're done

Today has been eventful we have 24 new recruits and I found out my girlfriend would nearly kill someone for trying to take a baby that isn't even her's away

I don't even know why a child was here in the first place, it's strictly forbidden because of how unsafe it is here

we're in a building full of murderers with weapons in nearly every room, why would you bring a baby

and Belle said the child's father was just going to leave him on the floor

what the fuck

"Everyone that's standing here is in well done, you will get our symbol tattooed on you tomorrow and you will get training every day, go back to the rooms" I say before turning around and walking back to where Belle is

I see her fast asleep on the chair with Carlo asleep on top of her

Belles's arms are holding him to her protectively and one hand on the back of his head

this is a sight

I can see some others looking over at her in awe as well

I try to take Carlo from her gently but she snaps awake moving him away from me and kicking my leg

I raise my eyebrows at her

" oh sorry" she smiles sheepishly

I chuckle softly and take Carlo from her, holding him in one arm while I help Belle up with the other

"whose kid is he baby?" I ask her

she looks around the room and points at Sal

"okay stay here for 2 minutes I'll be back angel" I kiss her head and hand her Carlo before going over to Sal

"Don" he nods sheepishly

"Let's have a little talk, Sal"

he sighs "Yes Don"

we walk over to a smallish room with a table and two chairs on either side of it

we sit down and he starts

"don i know I shouldn't have brought the kid but I didn't know what els-"

I hold my finger up making him shut up

"Nothing will happen to you calm down"

he sighs in relief "thank you"

"you were going to leave the baby on the floor in a building full of murderers and weapons? are you stupid?"

"I don't know how to look after kids.. I didn't even know I had him, apparently, I got his mom pregnant and she just dropped him off with me a few weeks ago and left" he drops his head down

"I had a nanny but I can't afford her anymore so I was planning on taking him to the adoption centre today"

he barely finished his sentence before Belle bursts in

"nope no way are you taking him there!" she shakes her head

"Belle-"

"no, I was abused every day by John and Sarah he is not going through that, I take him!"

"Baby you can't jus-"

she turns to Sal "Can I? I will take great care of him and you will still be able to see him if you want to just please don't take him there I'll pay you I'll do anything!"

"Belle that's not how you negotiate" I laugh

Sal chuckles as well "You will take good care of him?"

"She beat up that girl that tried to take him away from her," I tell him

"fair enough" he nods

"so I can?" she asks hopeful

Sal smiles "I would be so happy if it was you raising him"

"thank you so much" she hugs him

"no thank you seriously," Sal says relieved

"I'll get all the adoption stuff ready," he says when he pulls away "and I'll write down everything I know about him"

"okay" Belle nods with a huge smile

"where is he now?" I ask her

"oh he's with Calissa"

I furrow my eyebrows "The one I just recruited?"

"yep, we're kind of friends! Can you believe that my very first girl-friend!" she squeals happily

I chuckle at her as I stand up "That's great baby"

we all head out of the room and back to the gym where Calissa is playing with Carlo

Belle picks him up and hands him to Sal so he can say goodbye before sitting down next to Calissa

"so what happened" she asks taking a sip of water

"I'm adopting him"

Calissa's eyes widen

"woah" Belle giggles at her

"you'll do great he already loves you"

"thank you" Belle smiles warmly

"here put your number in my phone we can hang out!" Calissa pushes her phone to Belle giddily

Belle does as she says just as Sal comes back with Carlo

"thank you seriously" he hugs her again before he hands Carlo to her

"thank you and just let me know if you ever want to see him"

he smiles "I really appreciate it" he strokes Carlo's head "Bye little buddy"

Carlo gives him a cute baby smile, warming my heart

Calissa goes back to the rooms saying 'goodbye' to Belle and Sal leaves shortly after

"you sure you're ready for this baby?" I ask her

she looks at Carlo with a warm smile "I've never been more sure"

I kiss her head as we walk back to the car and head to the mansion

we walk inside and see a few confused faces as they look at the baby in Belles's arms

"looks like you two had an eventful day," Enzo says

"yep, got recruits, three new shipments, we're adopting a baby and Belle nearly killed a girl"

"We?" I look down at Belle who has a smile on her face "your adopting him with me?"

I smile lovingly at her "Of course"

her smile widens and I kiss her head while everyone stands there shocked

"What?" Enzo asks after a few minutes

"We are adopting Carlo" I repeat

"how did this even happen? and you nearly killed somebody?" he turns to Belle

"I didn't nearly kill her he's exaggerating" she huffs

"well she's in the hospital on life support with two broken fingers so I'd say I'm not exaggerating," I tell them

"I don't know what you're talking about, me and Carlo are getting brownies" she says as she walks into the kitchen with the baby

Enzo turns back to me "What the hell happened in the last 4 hours?"
