As the morning sun gently filtered into the room, Vikram's mother's footsteps could be heard as she climbed up the stairs to wake him up. Though Vikram had set multiple alarms, he knew that his mother's voice was the one that he couldn't ignore. She had a unique ability to wake him up no matter how deep his slumber was.

The curtains made a screeching noise as they were pulled back, revealing his messy room. His mother took a step into Vikram's room, expecting to find him still asleep in his bed. However, to her surprise, Vikram wasn't there.

She glanced around the room, trying to figure out where he might be. She paused for a moment, listening intently, until she heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom. A small smile crossed her face as she realized that Vikram was already up and getting ready for school.

She waited patiently outside the bathroom until Vikram emerged, dressed in his school uniform. "Aaj suraj kaunsi disha se nikla hai jo mera beta mere uthae bina hi uth gaya?(From where the sun had risen today that my son got up early without me waking him up?)", she taunted. "Jaha se daily nikalta h (from there where it rises every day)" he retorted in a sarcastic tone equal to his mother's. "Now, now," his mother began after a few moments, "take your time and come down when you are ready", her voice sweet. she turned back and headed downstairs before yelling at Saurabh which Vikram couldn't make out of as he was upstairs.

Vikram walked down the stairs, giving his brother a teasing look, to tell him that he was the one who got up early while Saurabh hadn't even brushed his teeth. "Mummy!" Saurabh whined, being annoyed by Vikram's antics. Although Vikram looked in a good mood, on the inside he was still thinking about Tara and her obliviousness.

He turned to look at the clock, still having half an hour before school. He decided he'd rather reach school early so he could roam in the corridors and that seemed better than the other option which he hadn't even thought of yet.

Upon getting to the school premises, Vikram greeted the elderly security guard who sat on an iron chair next to the gate. He wasn't just a guard to all the students, he was more than that to most of them, working there for longer and being remembered by several alumni and for that, he was called 'guard-chacha'.

As Vikram continued walking around before going to his class, something moving in the corner of his eyes caught his attention. It wasn't something but someone, more like sometwo as they were walking in the library who reminded him of someone who made him think most: Tara and the other guy being someone who he deeply despised, Ashok his arch nemesis who came before Aryan and others. He couldn't help but be unable to fight the urge to know what was going on between the two. He couldn't help but conclude that he should follow them.

Meanwhile, Aryan stood in front of the board with a broken chalk piece he found on the class's cupboard, deciding where to write the usual things he wrote like date, day, period and the subject teacher. He was the one writing as his writing was the best on the board. Just as he was to write, the chalk broke further into smaller pieces, Aryan couldn't grasp them. He decided he would go out and get more chalk.

He walked outside and towards the library. As soon as he was about to reach after a turn in the corridor, he bumped into Vikram who was tippy-toeing, trying to be as quiet while taking a glance at the two. Aryan's stature was shorter than Vikram's so when they bumped, Aryan's forehead hit Vikram's nose. He winced as he held his nose, the impact was surely rough by the way Vikram reacted to it.

"Sorr... Err..." Aryan figured out it was Vikram so he wasn't sorry, rather blamed it on him. "Whatever", he rolled his eyes before walking away. "Watch where you're going! You little-" Vikram yelled at him but stopped himself from saying something too vulgar, on the other hand, Aryan didn't even turn around to acknowledge the advice he didn't ask for.

Aryan was in the library, searching for the chalkbox. He looked around, his eyes scanning the shelves and the desk in front of him. He muttered to himself, "Alright, so where is it..", feeling a sense of frustration building up inside him. As he continued his search, he noticed Vikram standing at the edge of the doorway, looking in a different direction. Aryan's curiosity was piqued, and he wondered what could have caught Vikram's attention.

As he turned to look in the same direction, he noticed Vikram's expression shifting from horrified to grim. Aryan's heart started racing as he realized that something was wrong. He didn't want to follow where he was looking just to not be tagged as a person poking into other people's business by Vikram.

Aryan found himself in an uncomfortable situation when he sensed Vikram's stare. After a few minutes, when he found the chalkbox, he fumbled with it before dropping it and attracting Ashok and Tara's attention, who looked at him in disdain at being caught.

Aryan rearranged the chalks as fast as possible and took a few with him before leaving the library. As he was walking towards the exit, he bumped into Vikram again, who was keeping a close watch on Ashok and Tara, in the corner of the library, making out. It made him furious on the inside but his body language didn't give off the same. However, Aryan didn't say anything to Vikram and left without any comments. Vikram didn't mind him bumping into him this time, he was too focused on the pair.

The other two left after a moment, Tara saw Vikram outside who still wore his grim expression. She had nothing to say so she could explain to him that it was a 'misunderstanding'. Ashok noticed him as well and gave a smug smile as he tugged Tara closer to him, which made his blood boil. If he hadn't come to school earlier today, he would still have been unaware of Tara's infidelity.

A/N: Hello everyone! This is it for chapter 5 of GRACE'S FUSION. I wrote this in between exams and have two exams remaining (YIPPEE🥹). I'm trying to switch to being consistent and not ghosting it for a whole month. And yes, I'm shifting a few things like adding character aesthetics and a prologue, so the chapters are gonna look weird because I should have done it right before posting the first chapter but I'm forgetful pookies 🥰 anyways, Until we meet again₊˚.🎧⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
