I tucked a braid behind my hair, nervously and tried to concentrate on the fantastic novel I was reading.
But that honey eyed demon wouldn't stop staring at me.
"Stop it!" I snapped, when I couldn't take it anymore.
Dimples punctuated his cheeks. "Stop what?"
"Stop staring at me!"
"Why?"
"Why not?"
"Because you're beautiful and I enjoy looking at beautiful things. Don't ask me to stop enjoying myself, Asa."
I sucked in a strangled breath, my heart going wild against my chest, trying to articulate my senses and pathetically failing.
"D...don't say things like that, Kam."
For the first time today, his eyebrows furrowed. "Why?"
"Don't say things that are not true."
"That would make me a liar, Asa. And we both know what a brutally honest person I am."
I looked away from him.
Every second I spent with him was terrifying. Maddening. Beautiful. Magical.
I loved his presence, but I hated it too.
"Have you ever watched the sun set into the ocean?" He asked suddenly. Something in his voice made me look into his eyes, only to find him already looking at me. Squinting a little, like he was trying to understand something.
