Leaves

When we went to the park, we sat by the stone bench and you held my hand. You said you'd always remember that day as if it were just yesterday. You'd remember the way my hair resembles the leaves falling like fire on the ground. You said you'd remember the almost bare trees and the way your heart feels whenever we say goodbye. You'd remember the leaves when they helplessly fall, waiting for the wind to pass them by. And you'd remember how we left our hearts on those benches. You said we'd come back when we're ready. You said we'd come back to where we left off.

All I know is that whenever leaves fall down, I can't help but remember you leaving every time. I'm ready now. But your heart was taken long ago by a passerby.
