the rest of the afternoon, they were watching the night sky while huddling all together, the two couldn't believe their friends were leaving the morning after.
as of now, nadia and karl fell asleep in each other's arms after awhile. it was currently eleven at night, alex and violet were just talking, though, they did have some awkward moments once in awhile.
"hey, uh, alex."
alex hummed in response.
"i have something important to tell you."
"what is it?" he asked, facing her.
"your mom."
"what the fuck, vi?!"
"i'm joking!" violet chuckled, "i do have something important to tell you, though."
"spit it out already, vi." alex snorted.
"i like you. i liked you for a really long time, alex, and i was too scared to tell you but, i'm telling you now."
"oh."
oh? that's all you have to say to her alex?
alex didn't know what to say, he wanted this to happen but he didn't know it'd happen so sudden.
"let's go back home."
this made violet's heart drop, she confessed and it was clear to her she got rejected.
"yeah." violet agreed.

during the car ride home, it was silent, not only was it because of what violet told alex, but also because karl and nadia were asleep.
when they got there, the two woke their friends to head inside, and didn't say another word to each other before heading inside.
karl and nadia noticed this really quickly, the two looked at each other, obviously thinking the same. karl pulled nadia to the living room to speak.
"karl, are you seeing this?" they asked.
"i'm seeing it, and it doesn't look very good." karl replied.
"what do you think happened while we were asleep?" nadia asked.
"well. to be honest, i think one of them just got rejected."
"you're really dumb." they replied.
"how?!"
"violet wouldn't confess so fast without telling me, unless she did while we were sleeping..."
"most likely that last part."
"shut up. i'm gonna go talk to her. goodnight, karl." they smiled, walking away, before getting pulled into a hug from karl.
"thank you, nads."
"for?"
"for being such a good friend, to all of us." he answered.
"yeah, yeah." they chuckled, separating themselves from him.
they gave him a peck on the cheek, before heading to their room, while karl was standing there, dumbfounded.
