REIN AND JJ HAD FULFILLED THEIR PLANS OF HANGING OUT EVEN AFTER THE DISCOVERY OF THE COMPASS THEY FOUND ON SCOTTER GRUBBS' SUNKEN BOAT. The two had gone night surfing together and then sat on the beach passing a joint back and forth while Mac Demarco played loudly through a speaker Rein stole from Jack's room.

It wasn't until three in the morning did the two sneak back into the Partens household. Luckily Rein's dad was passed out drunk in the old rocking chair and JJ didn't pay much attention, probably due to the fact that he was used to his dad doing the same. The duo then rummaged past the beer cans in the fridge in search of something to eat. They had settled on a questionable half a pizza located in the back of the fridge, but their minds were too clouded by the drug in their systems to appropriately judge whether the pizza was still good to eat or not.

JJ had spent the night on Rein's bedroom floor, to out of it to return home or even walk down the street to the château where John B would've been able to offer out the pull out couch. Although Rein did offer half of her bed to him, he found the floor to be more comfortable.

John B's bruised face had showed up banging on the window at an early hour of the morning that caused Rein to pull her blankets way over her head to guard the sunlight. JJ, on the other hand, had left with John B after Rein refused to get out of bed and follow the two.
