Chapter 8: Girl Friend

Vanessa woke up the next morning still thinking about the kiss that happened. She was still thinking about him. She went and washed her face. She decided to go to Yara's room to check on her after her injury. She knocked at the door and enter the room.

Only to see, Alessandro sitting next to her on a chair and Elie standing talking to her "you'll be fine in two days said the doctor" assured Elie. Vanessa walked slowly to Yara, who adjusted her back and gave her a smile "hey Vanessa."

Vanessa smiled and replied "how are you feeling today? I'm sorry about my father-...." Yara interrupted "it's not your fault. I should have expect something like this happen." Elie put his hands in his pockets and said "well from now on no one leave this house."

Alessandro reached to hold Yara's hand as his stroke it. Elie glared at him "what's got into you these two days? Getting closer to my cousin?" Alessandro left Yara's hand quickly and looked at Vanessa nervous "it's just.... That I saw her getting a bullet and couldn't able to protect her, makes me feel like I'm in debt to her....". Elie nodded.

He turned around, looked at Vanessa and walked away while pushing her shoulder out of his way. Vanessa was confused by his actions, last night he kissed her and everything. Was this really an act? As the door shut close. Alessandro went back to Yara and smashed his lips against hers.

"That was so close." He whispered. She laughed. Vanessa was still thinking, her thoughts were interrupted when Yara asked "did he hurt you yesterday after pulling the gun and threatened to kill him?" Yara was looking at her with this scary smirk that Vanessa quickly knew. She crossed her arms and replied "thankfully he didn't do anything." Alessandro say next to his lover and held her close to him "how are you feeling mi amore.... still hurt?" "I'm fine Ale. Don't worry."

Alessandro sighed, before maids entered the room and gathered around Yara "Signor send us to hell signora Yara to take her bath. Please leave the room." Alessandro followed Vanessa out of the room and they both went for a walk at backyard. "You don't seem well sir." Alessandro laughed "don't call me that miss Esapada. You can call me Ale." Vanessa smiled "well you don't seem well Ale."

He rubbed his eyes tired and replied "yeah.... i just feel guilty. It's the second time I could have lost her and all because of me." Vanessa stopped and stood in front of him "don't say that. Besides you should expect things like these happen. You have a long list of enemies and they are willing to do anything to kill you." Alessandro looked at her and added "I know that...."

"It's better if you talk to her about your feelings, and your guilt and everything that's going in your mind." Ale smiled and nodded, they continued walking around the pool talking. After a few minutes later "miss Espada... if you had a chance to return home, would you go back to your father?" Vanessa was left speechless. Few seconds of hesitation and she replied "to be honest, I fell safe here more than home, I don't know why.... well I never had any friends."

"You don't?" asked confused Alessandro. She shrugged her shoulders and answered "well what do you expect. Locked in a house with no way going out. I am homeschooled, I am always followed by bodyguards. You see.... I know it's wrong but spending these few days with Yara, made me feel that I have a friend. She helped since the first day I came, so I felt that I am protected."

Alessandro smiled "well Yara too enjoys her time with you. Like you, Yara don't have friends. She has enemies more than friends... oh well there is Marco Massimo DePapel. An old friend with her. Her father and his are really good friends which made both of them close too." Vanessa felt someone being jealous, she burst into laughter.

"Don't be jealous." Alessandro glared and shouted "Am not! Idioti!!" He was blushing . As they went back inside for a warm cup of tea, Yara joined them. Vanessa helped her to sit as she was still limping, and enjoyed their beautiful evening together.

"I was just telling Vanessa about Marco." Yara smiled "Marco? God I miss him. I just talked to him few hours ago. He did promise he will visit but I don't know when." Alessandro looked at Vanessa and signal her to say something "ummm... Yara...."

Yara was confused on what is happening "I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did for me. I never had a friend and I really enjoy my time with you" Yara looked at her with an awe face. "Well I never had a girl friend, and I was so excited to know that I might have a new friend." Vanessa walked and hugged Yara.

They were all chattering and laughing together, until Elie came "what's going on?" Vanessa stopped talking and looked away. "Nothing I am just hanging out with Vanessa." Elie glared at Vanessa but didn't say anything . "Alessandro I need to talk to you."

Elie walked away, followed by Alessandro. Yara rolled her eyes "this boy can be so dramatic sometimes." The girls laughed. "signorina liberalo, hai un visitatore" Yara was confused "could it be Marco?"
