hyunjin felt his previous nerves resurface as he waited in a small room, the person he was competing against sat in front of him.

the other potential actor they had chosen didn't seem to like him at all, though. he knew this because every time he tried to speak or smile at him, he would glare at him.

there was a knock on the door and the two turned to the door. suddenly, the wooden door opened and a familiar face was seen. hyunjin's heart did a few backflips when he saw the freckles he had seen many times, fluffy blonde hair, and a sweet smile.

"hey guys!" felix walked into the room, sparing hyunjin a glance and a small smile. "i'm gonna be acting eith you today so they can watch 'our chemistry.'" he used air quotes before he smiled at the both of them.

the two of them had immediately sat up straight when the boy walked into the room, shocked. this wasn't in the letter. the blonde walked over to the other chair in the room, that just so happened to be next to hyunjin.

"hi!" felix smiled at him. hyunjin felt warm inside. he had never seen the boy in person before, or even this close. he was so much more beautiful in real life. he couldn't help but stare at his freckles for a moment before he greeted him back. "hey." he smiled sweetly at him.

eventually, the same staff from a couple weeks before walked in, asking hyunjin to leave the room for a moment so that they could judge the other person. he nodded his head and got up, exiting the room and waiting outside the door.

after what seemed to be hours, the other male left the room, telling hyunjin that it was now his turn. the staff smiled at him once again when he entered, asking him to stand with felix.

"alright..." he was handed a script. it was definitely not just one piece of paper this time. "you two are going to act out scenes 2 and 4." hyunjin nodded and looked at the first line, furrowing his eyebrows.

this was definitely a romantic scene. he couldn't help but feel awkward at the thought of flirting and sweet talking felix in real life, but dismissed those feelings when felix nodded his head at him, beginning to read from the script.

just like before, the staff was heavily impressed with hyunjin's performance. he was great. and he seemed to have great chemistry with the blonde boy in front of him.

they immediately knew that he was the one. the way that he and felix spoke to each other just seemed so natural. it didn't seem forced like the boy before hyunjin, and definitely didn't seem awkward.

felix had definitely made the right call when he told the staff that they should have a follow-up audition with the male. when the two finished the performance, the staff clapped lightly.

"speechless. for real. you guys were amazing." felix smiled brightly, turning to hyunjin and giving him a close-eyed smile. hyunjin smiled back at him, his eyes smiling at him as well.

"it's the same as last time! you'll get a letter in the mail by tomorrow if you have made it, and nothing if you didn't. you're truly incredible mr. hwang." he smiled at him once more before he bowed and left the room.

he started to walk down the familiar hall, making his way to the exit. "hey, wait!" he stopped walking and turned around, watching as felix ran up to him.

"i was wondering... you want to go grab some lunch? it's out first time meeting in person..." hyunjin was taken aback. did THE lee felix just ask him if he wanted to get lunch? "uh—sure." felix smiled brightly once more.

"cool! i know this one place that has really good sandwiches, if you're interested." hyunjin nodded, agreeing to the offer. "oh cool, let's go then."

felix's heart skipped a beat at the sincere smile he had been given, he felt his cheeks grow warm. "y-yeah. let's go." he smiled as him once more, grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the building.
