Chapter 57: Betrayed

"Trisha breath!!" Daniel yelled at the girl whose eyes were close, he tapped her cheek repeatedly. They were both drained with water.

Barbara was scared already. "Please wake her up, Patricia please wake up. I can't lose you" she teared up.

Daniel began to press Patricia's chest back and forth, then placed his mouth on hers to push air inside. On the third trial, Patricia gasped for air.

Barbara crouched down immediately and hugged her tight to herself. "I'm so sorry Trisha, I didn't mean to push you away that way. I'm so sorry.. I was so scared I was going to lose you"

"You're.. br..eaking my bones" Patricia utter and Barbara broke the hug.

Daniel was breathing out in relief.

"I'm the one to apologize. You're right about me being Bitchy all the time. The truth is, I've missed you by my side" Patricia said and Barbara nodded in tears.

"I've missed you too" Barbara said.

"You should go to the hospital" Daniel suggested and they both nodded.

Tony watch the scene unfold, his eyes remain on Barbara the whole time until they all walked pass him.

"Leave us alone" Ricky said to the men as soon as they got into a quiet room.

Jennifer could feel her heart pounding hard against her chest but she didn't let it show. She remembered Peter's word. 'They won't hurt you as far you don't let them know you know about us'

"So? Don't you think it's quite disrespectful to bring a girl around a corner against her will?" Jennifer asked.

"Fuck disrespect, I'll talk to whoever I want, whenever I want" Ricky said and Jennifer swallowed.

"What do you want?" she asked. Her voice gentle this time.

"Where Annabelle? I know you know where she is" He said.

"I don't even talk to her that much in school. We are not close, how do you expect me to know where she is?" She asked.

"Then where's Ethan?" Ricky asked.

"I haven't heard from him in a while now, so I have no idea where he is" Jennifer shrugged, her voice sharp like that of a razor. Ricky was quite impressed.

"I've seen a lot of people like you Jennifer. Most of them regrets it at the end. What do you gain in protecting people who are not worth it. Most of them are tortured to death and yet they won't still spill the goddamn truth" Ricky said.

"What? Are you going to torture me, when I have no idea on what you're talking about?" Jennifer said.

"I'm not here to torture you but to talk. And you know so well that we are going to find Annabelle anyway" Ricky said with utmost solemnity.

"Then why asking me in the first place?" Jennifer asked.

"When we find Annabelle, we find Ethan at the same time too. And when that happens, we'll kill those who help her. I'm just asking you to give you the chance to save him. I'll tell my men not to touch Ethan if you tell me where they are" Ricky said.

"I don't know what you're talking about and please whatever is happening. Don't just touch Ethan" She said. Why is his word beginning to affect her? Is it because he mentioned Ethan?

"You are in love with him aren't you?" He asked and Jennifer kept quiet. "I can see that in your eyes. If you do love him then why are you allowing him push himself into the depts of hell. You know quite well this battle favour is on our side. Annabelle is a weapon who had killed uncountable people.. do you think people like her care? If Ethan dies, trust me Annabelle will continue to live her life"
