Barely awake and fighting the morning sunlight, you curled into a blanket that'd wrapped your body overnight. It was warm and fluffy, and a soft gentle pillow was now encasing your head.

A fleeting fluttery sensation pressed itself against your cheek, it being the thing to finally wake you.

Immediately having to shield your eyes from the sun, you looked up to spot Charles hovering above you, his brown hair falling around you in an oddly picturesque scene with his amber eyes shining brilliantly in the sun.

"Did you... just kiss me?" you asked, less offended that he'd do that as much as incredibly confused.

Charles chuckled softly, "I apologize, I did. I wanted to know if you lost any nerve receptors overnight and... I also wanted to know if you still had the ability to feel." he apologized sweetly and calmly, smiling kindly.

Eek, a real researcher huh?

You rubbed your cheek free of the sensation as you sat up, yawning and feeling refreshed.

You had to pee real bad.

"Here, I fetched you breakfast! There's a bathroom in the back if you wish to go beforehand. There's also a shower, I suggest you clean up a bit. You've got a bit of blood on you." Charles smiled, cheerful as always as he moved away from you and sat in his stool.

As you walked into the bathroom you had spotted your favorite breakfast foods sat on the table. A variety of mouthwatering dishes you hadn't eaten in the longest time.

So mouth watering that it only took you seven minutes to shower before you were out again.

That is, until you realize you didn't have any clothes.

"Um, Charles?" you called through the door.

Charles cracked the door, which scared the crap out of you, and passed some clothes through the door.

"Already got it!" He spoke, sounding like he was wearing a giant grin.

It was a medical gown but not one of the ones that stuck your butt out, as well as some underwear that resembled one of those disposable underwear made by period companies. Or just a really thin adult diaper. Either way, they're comfortable.

Walking out of the bathroom fully dressed, Charles turned to face you with two green wrist brands.

"Take a seat and eat up, I cleaned up the bed so there wasn't anymore mycelium on it. We have a lot to discuss."

You didn't have to be asked twice, sitting down on the now clean bed and happily eating, kicking your feet. You thought yourself incredibly lucky to be able to eat, and have been able to eat through out the apocalypse.

"To start, I'll need you to wear these wristbands, they let security know you're none infectious." Charles informed you, reaching out his hand to gently take your wrists one at time.

His hands were soft, uncalloused, and he had an incredibly gentle touch. Somewhat affectionate, the way he rubbed your hand with his thumb as he peeled the tape off the band with another. He stroked your wrist up and down tenderly with his hand as he fastened a green band around both of your wrists.

You had a feeling that Charles was a naturally touchy feely person, the way he touched you so intimately and freely, but you wonder if that's appropriate given his profession.

"There! Nice and fastened! Let me know whenever you need a need one, they are paper after all." Charles put his hands up excitedly, kicking off the bed on his stool and rolling back into his desk.

"Now then, there are a few things to go over! The first is your intro class. I booked you for the evening intro class instead of the mid-morning one because I do have another promising patient in a similar circumstance." Charles spoke with a more muted smile than usual.
