EmmaLee and I hung out as much as we could. Tyler would text her everyday and see if I was around. I knew EmmaLee was leaving soon. I tried to ignore the dread that would follow her depart. Not only would I miss EmmaLee, I thought I was going to die without Tyler. Just thinking about it made me upset. I tried to avoid thinking about it as best as I could; it wasn’t working. I think EmmaLee noticed it as well because every time I was around she'd text him. If we were outside and he'd text, EmmaLee would read his text to me and I’d tell her what to respond. It'd be the same thing if a parent was around. Since I wasn’t allowed to look at a phone, I'd have EmmaLee help me. She was the one I turned to for everything. She was always there for me. I wasn’t ashamed to ask for her help if I had a problem I needed to talk about. She would listen with an open heart and an open mind. She is, and always would be, my best friend.
