Chapter Nineteen

2 Weeks Later

Today is game day and I have been on edge about it all week , it's not our first game so it's not jitters it's the fact that for the last 2 weeks me and Jacc have been heavy into each other's lives no we aren't together but everyone thinks we are we spend majority of our time together aside from practice and classes and the sex well the sex is amazing , but today we are playing Florida State which means Darius and Desean will be in the same space . I haven't talked to D since the night before I came back to school he's attempted to contact me but nothing and I know that he knows I've been spending time with Jacc because he's always posting pictures of himself on my snapchat whenever we are together.

" Kayla you are going to be late lets go what's taking you so long ? I want to see Brandon before the game starts summer said she's going to meet us there."

I walked out of the bathroom and looked over at Leeyah she already knew why I was stressing

" Stop ! It'll be fine , Darius won't even be able to speak to you he'll be playing and they are on different sides they won't be on the field together so they can't attack each other !"

She was right I was thinking about it too much and it was going to through me off my performance. I grabbed my gym bag and we headed down to the football field , game day was huge on campus it was literally the one thing we ALL came together for. We got to the field and Leeyah walked down to the locker room area with me Brandon was outside waiting for her she ran to him and hugged him and kissed him

" Good Luck Baby !! " she smiled and wiped the lipstick from his mouth she was sporting his jersey like she did every game they were so cute. She walked towards the stands and I looked over at B , we did our little game day handshake

" GoodLuck B ! Let's get this win!" He nodded and walked back into the locker room I started to walk in so I could change and I felt someone's hands grab me , I turned around and Jacc was standing there coach knew about what was going on between us he wasn't the happiest about it but we weren't breaking any rules.

" Hey you ! Do your thing out there today like always okay ?" he smiled at me and kissed me slowly , he doesn't usually do that so it caught me off guard

" You know me Ms Independent I always do my thing " he bit his lip and smiled I rolled my eyes and walked into the locker room to change my clothes. It was now or never.

As soon as we walked out onto the field all my worries washed away this , this is what I lived for the crowd cheering all the hype this is why I did it. We took our spots on the field and cheered for the boys as they ran out on the field, I cheered extra loud for my boys ! Once they were all out we took our places on the sidelines and waited for kickoff . I looked up in the stand and spotted summer and Leeyah in their normal spot they both gave me a thumbs up and smiled.

The fm a ended and we won 56-35 my boys showed up and showed out today I was so proud of them
And halftime was a HUGE success our performance went way better than I anticipated! I was grabbing my stuff while Leeyah and Summer waited for me the boys were gonna have a party to celebrate their win but we had to leave and get ready first. We were laughing and giggling and I heard someone clear their throat I looked up and Darius was standing there.

" Kayla we will wait for you at the car give me your bags" Leeyah took my bags and her and Summer walked off , I focused my attention on Darius I knew I wasn't going to be able to avoid him the whole time.

" You played a good game today D it was nice to see you out in your element again." I pulled my hair up into a pony tail and he smiled

" Yeah you to the routine was hot , how long did it take you to step down from your leadership role ?"

" Not that long actually it's fun to step back and let someone else take responsibility for everyone else's slip ups."

" What ! Kayla not being in charge and being okay with it  you growing up huh ?"

" Lol don't try to play me D "

" I miss you Kayla I didn't come over here to have small talk , I really miss you and you been ignoring me for weeks I know I messed up but I miss us."

This is what I was afraid of I wasn't doing this with him he had his chance there was no coming back from that.

" You can't be mad at me anymore because I know you are fucking that nigga from the football team so we are even."

My eyes shot open and I looked at him like he was crazy.

" Even ? You seriously think I had sex with Jacc to get even ? You are fucking delusional I never cheated on you were DONE when me and Jacc started messing around so even we are not but done with this conversation I am. Goodbye Darius"

I rolled my eyes and walked away from him he called after me but I didn't bother even he's crazy there's no way he seriously thought I was going to fall for that. I walked out towards the entrance and Desean was standing there he had a weird look on his face

" What are you still doing here champ shouldn't you be getting ready for your victory party ?"

" What were you doing with that nigga Kay ?"

I was taken back he never showed this kind of jealous side before so I didn't know how to take it .

" My ex ? Nothing we were talking that's it why are you trippin ? We friends remember and nothing is going on between me and him it was an exchange of words."

" Yeah okay I'll see you later Kayla."

He walked away from me and I just shook my head this men in my life are acting up today I walked over to Summer's car and they both looked at me

" I'm fine relax lol but some weird shit did just happen with Desean today !"

" Oh details come on get in the car so we can go get ready we will talk about it on the way back to the dorms."

I got in the car , and we pulled off Summer turned the music down.

" So before the game after me and B had our little pep talk and Jacc came out of the locker room and I told him to play a good game and then he kissed me and he NEVER does that so it caught me off guard , then after the game when me and Darius were talking I guess he was watching us ? When I walked over to him he was like what was you doing with that nigga Kay ? And I was like what you serious right now one we just friends remember and nothing we were just talking! "

" You know what that means thought right? That means little Jacc Jacc is catching feelings for Little miss homecoming queen the lion is falling in love with the lamb."

" Summer shut up no he's not this is Desean Jackson we are talking about ."

" I don't know Kay she might be right I've never seen my cousin jealous when it comes to any female ever Kay you might be the game changer."

I sat in silence for the rest of the ride could I really be the game changer? Was Jacc falling for me ?
