People don’t realize that you're hurting, because you don't want to make a big deal out of anything. You don't want to turn something small into something major.
People don’t realize that you're hurting, because you've perfected your fake smile, your fake laugh. You know how to look like you're having the time of your life when you're secretly dying inside. You know how to fool them into believing you're okay.
As a result, they assume that you don't feel anything, they think that you'll always forgive them, and they believe that you'll always forget.
But they don't know that you remember everything, that even the meaningless jokes get to you, that your smile is a sign of your sensitivity and the vulnerability you're trying to curb.
They don't know that behind your smile flows a river of tears and a river of painful stories.
