Don't Go Now, Stay

I was hurt and I was bruised,
Left with a gaping hole,
A hole so wide, you could see my demoralized heart.
I thought I was going to drown.

Then you stumbled into the picture,
Awkward and shy,
That I counted you at first,
But soon you became loud and understanding,
Disintegrating the doubts to ash.

I learnt to live,
I learnt to laugh,
Most importantly,
I learnt to love.
Without you I didn't know where I'd be,
Or where I'd go.

If all of it were a dream,
I wouldn't want to wake up,
This was how it should be,
This was what friendship's called,
So don't you ever leave.
