I walk inside before he has a chance to answer.

"Ok then." he elongates each word.

I ignore him and walk upstairs into his room. I hear footsteps behind me, confirming he was following me. I walk over to his windows and draw the curtains. Am I actually going to do this? I face Jax, he looks at me, confusion written all over his face. He looks down at the envelope which I am holding with a tight grip. I take a deep breath and I hold out the envelope. Jax eyes it before he takes it. He looks at the envelope where my name is written. He looks back up at me with his washed-out blue eyes.

"Open it," I demand.

He complies and opens the envelope. He takes out the pictures and goes through them. His face changes numerous times but shock is the most prominent. He looks up his eyes searching mine for an answer. "What is this?"

"Take out the piece of paper, it's inside the envelope." I dodge his question, he does as he's told. He opens up the scrap of paper. He reads it before looking at me.

"What the fuck?" he swears softly. "Who wrote this and what are all these pictures about." He holds up one of them, which shows him and I in my bedroom are backs are only visible. "What did you get yourself into?"

I laugh sadistically. "Trust me, I didn't get into anything, I was forced."

"You should go to the police."

My eyes widen. "No way." I shake my head.

"Fine, then I'll go." My mouth drops open as he turns to leave. I run at him and grab his arm.

"NO," I shout.

He looks at me like I'm crazy.

"Are you serious?!" He exclaims. "You're clearly being stalked and threatened and you don't want to go to the police, who are probably the only people who could help you."

"Please, don't go," I say while attempting to grab the envelope out of his hands, but fail as he holds it up over his head, way too far for me to reach. "Give me it back."

"No." and he walks away.

"He killed Maddy," I say with tears beginning to surface. At that, Jax stops moving. "Well, I'm not sure if he did, but I think he did, he made it out to be a suicide and he texted saying that it could be Haley or Esther or even you who will be next." I quickly spit out the information. "And specifically he said to not go to the police," I add.

Jax turns his body to face me. "Who's doing this?"

"I don't know" I look down to the floor. "It could be two people, I'm not sure."

I hear footsteps on the stairs moving closer. I look up to see Jax standing in front, face to face. He's standing on a lower step than me and we are a lot closer in height this way. "You're not telling me everything," he observes.

"I know, I can't" I sigh. "If I do, my mother will die," I say slowly, making sure he understands that I will not tell him. "I said way too much already, about Maddy. I'm sorry but I can't tell you one small part of it."

He stares into my eyes. "But what if it's the key to this whole thing."

"Trust me, it's not."

He keeps his eyes locked with mine. He sighs. "Ok, I'll help."

It was pointless. We got nothing done within an hour, we are no way closer to finding out who this guy is. All we came up with was a bunch of theories. I really don't know what to do now. Everything is a mess. I told him basically everything, except one thing which won't help us anyway, even if I did tell him. Again.Pointless. Pacing her room, the same way as I've been pacing my own. I will myself to think. I look over at Jax studying the note and pictures for the one-hundredth time.
