Three days later

I had been waiting for Manik in the hospital lobby for the past five minutes and an aunty, who had been sitting a few seats away from me, had been continuously blabbering on the phone, probably with her friend, about her son.

One of the nurse had even requested her not to talk loudly on phone as it would disturb the patient around. She had nodded her head in okay but after a few minutes she was again back to talking loudly. How noisy!!!

I got up from my seat and reached her. I took a seat right beside her. "Aunty." I called grabbing her attention.

She looked at me. "Do you know I have been waiting for my to be fiance since the past five minutes and he hasn't arrived yet? I thought he was punctual and he wouldn't make me wait but here he-"

"Hey!!! Why should I listen to your complains about your fiance?" She cut me in between, frowning.

I faked a smile and said, "Exactly! Then why should I listen to your complains about your son?"

She looked around and the hospital staffs around had been looking at our direction. "I am not complaining to you." She contradicted.

"Well I highly doubt that. Your son doesn't study. He smokes. He got into a fight with his friend and he even fractured his right arm while fighting." I paused."Want me to continue? There's more.."

"Such an ill mannered girl." She said, embarrassed as well as annoyed as she got up from the seat and made her way outside.

I let out a sigh and looked around. The people still had been looking at me. Some were laughing and some were busy gossiping, most probably about me.

"Nandini." Right then I heard Manik's voice from behind me. I got up from my seat and turned around only to see him a few feet away from me.

I reached him and we both walked out of the hospital. "You know you really can annoy the shit out of people." He said as he got in his car.

"Honey you know you can be my next target." I replied as I got in.

"No thanks and don't start that honey thing again."

"Why? C'mon it sounds SO GOOD ." I said pressurising the word 'so good'. "Honey."

He scrunched his face and sighed. "Do whatever you want. It's worthless trying to stop you." He said as he started the engine.

I couldn't help but chuckle. "By the way do you know the location of the venue or should I give you the direction?"

"Oh! no thanks. I don't want to end up taking the wrong turn like the last time." He denied.

We were going to the launch party of the new product of Murthy groups and most probably our marriage was going to be announced today.

I still was against this marriage but I had no other choice. For my mom I had to do it.

"You love kickboxing so much but then why did you chose to be a doctor?" He asked, grabbing my attention.

"Well didn't I tell you because it gives me the right to cut open hearts." I said and shrugged.

"I know that's not the reason. I want to know your real reason. Is it your mom?"

"Well you don't need to know. It's not a matter of your concern and it was my choice." Yes the real reason was my mom but then it was my choice.

"You said you'll give our marriage and us a chance but if we don't try to know each other, it wouldn't work out."

"You want to know me?" I asked and he shook his head a bit with his eyes focused in driving.

"Okay then." I looked outside to check where we had reached. "Take a right turn after we reach the crossroad."

"Huh?" He looked at me for a second before again averting his gaze towards the road. "But for reaching the venue we have to take a left turn."

"I know." I looked at him. "But you said you want to know more about me."

"Yeah but we would-"

"If you want to know more about me then take the right turn otherwise the left. It's your choice anyway." I said, reclining on the seat. I wasn't sure what he was going to do.

As we reached the cross road he took a right turn. So he really wanted to know more about me. "Stop by the Holo pub."

"Pub? Seriously!"

"If you don't want to then you can still take a U turn. I won't mind."

He made a grumpy face and I couldn't help but go all 'aw' on him. Cute.

Just like I asked he parked the car at the parking lot of the pub. I got out of the car and he followed my actions.

"Why are we here?" He asked.

"To get drunk." I said casually as I walked towards the entrance of the pub.

"What?! Are you serious? We have a party to attend." He said and he seemed a bit annoyed.

"I already know that and we are not going to attend that party. You said you wanted to know me right?" I turned to look at him. "So first thing about me, this pub is my favourite and I come here to loosen up a bit."

"Nandini we can not miss this party. It's important for both of us." He tried explaining.

"Well you were the one to make the choice. So it ain't my fault." I shrugged. "And second thing about me; I hate attending parties."

"But this-"

I didn't even let him complete. "And yea when I get tipsy I answer every question truthfully. So this is your opportunity."

"Nandini." I could hear him call my name but still I walked inside the pub.
