FADE IN: INT. RACHEL'S LIVING ROOM- DAY
A tidy room bathed in sunshine.
Two big windows overlooking a tall building.
A big brown sofa in the middle of the room.
A loud sound of a beating heart fills the small room.
A sigh of frustration can be heard coming from RACHEL who sits on the sofa.
RACHEL is holding a mobile phone in her hand.
Her frustrated mumbling can be heard as she picks up the phone and then puts it down again in indecision.
RACHEL
It's been thirty-six years since I last heard from him. I can't just call him out of the blue and expect him to remember me.
Her hand picks up the phone with determination in her eyes.
RACHEL starts dialing the number.
Her hand shakes violently as a man answers the call.
PARKER
Hello, who is this?
RACHEL
Hi. It's Rachel. Rachel Jenkins.
Silence.
RACHEL
Rachel from high school.
Deep sigh on the other end of the line.
PARKER
You found me.
Awkward silence.
RACHEL
Yes, it has been a long time, hasn't it?
Her hands shake violently.
She holds her phone with both hands.
A huge smile spreads on her face and her eyes sparkle with joy.
PARKER
It's nice to hear from you. I am alone now, you know?
RACHEL
Yes. So, I was thinking... We could grab a cup of coffee to catch up?
RACHEL shifts nervously, running her hands through her long, dark hair.
PARKER
I would love that. Let me get back to you.
I am visiting my mother now and we don't want them to keep us apart again, do we?
I'll call you when I go back home. I am looking forward to seeing you.
RACHEL
Me, too. I'll be waiting for your call. Bye.
PARKER
Bye.
RACHEL ends the call smiling broadly.
Her hands are shaking.
She gets up and paces the room.
RACHEL drinks a glass of water shakily.
She breathes in deeply.
RACHEL
Finally.
FADE OUT.
