Today me and Kai decided to go on a picnic at the park. Fall was coming soon and I wanted to enjoy the warm weather before I would have to bundle up again. When I stuck my hand out the window this morning to test the air, there was a slight breeze but nothing too bad.

I dressed in a thin, blue summer dress, tied my hair into high ponytail, put on some earrings. When I left the bathroom, Kai was standing there in the middle room wearing a white t-shirt with matching blue shorts and a small grin. I skipped over to him, looping my arm in his, grabbing the little picnic basket from his hand so he could hold mine.

"Stay safe, try to be somewhere with very little people, stay together, and call us if any plans change." Yeonjun nagged.

Beomgyu rolled his eyes, "It's fine as long as they don't get hurt," Beomgyu waved Yeonjun off.

"And remember wear a condo-" Ryujin hit him in the back of the head with her fist, giving him a harsh glare, making him immediately silence.

"There will be no vulgarity in this house." she nagged, pointing a strict finger at Beomgyu and us.

I didn't know what to do but awkwrdly laugh and hope that Kai's shoulders could hide my reddened face. I looked up at him to see his reaction and he was also beet red with a shy smile.

On the walk to the park, we were able to cooldown so when we sat down in our secluded spot in the grass, it was no longer awkward. I pulled out a bag of cookies and handed him one while I took one for myself. He was leaned against the tree while I sat in between his legs, leaning my back against his front. We sat in silence, a very comfortable quiet. Enjoying the day, enoying the moment, watching as people walked the path in front of us, particularly a couple. They were on in their years, taking small, slow strides, hand in hand, their wedding rings glinted in the sunlight as they looked at each other with love in their eyes. I couldn't help but smile as I stared at them, somewhere in my heart I wanted what they had. I let my gaze stray to Kai, tilting my head to look up at him to find him already looking down at me with serious eyes.

"Yes?" I asked unsurely.

"I love you." he whispered, a smile spread to my lips.

"Love you too."

Suddenly a gust of wind brushed over us and I shivered, goosebumps erupted all over my skin. Without any words, Kai immediately wrapped his arms around me, his warmth countering the cold.

"Hey give me your hand." He mumbled, before I could respond, he took my hand in his, I raised an eyebrow at him. Then I felt something cold on my finger, making me jump.

"Hold on..." he held me still with his other hand, before finally pulling away.

On my finger there was a silver band with a single pink gem in the center, I turned over my hand to get a better look at it and on the underpart I saw a carving:

YxK

"Now you're mine." he chuckled humoursly.

"Huh?" Then he showed me his hand that had the same exact ring, the ring seemed to fit is finger so tightly that it looked painful, I grabbed his hand and tried to pull it but it was stuck, then I tried to pull mine but it was also stuck. I let out a breathless laugh, and looked up at him with mischievous eyes and evil grin.

"I'm your's? That means you're mine too."

"I guess so~" He leaned into my face.

"Want ice cream." Kai said suddenly and then on cue his stomach growled, I rolled my eyes at him before agreeing. He cheered a little too loudly, I had to hold back my laugh.

"Kai, you confuse me, sometimes you act like a little kid but then act like a man." I stood up.

He pouted at me with furrowed eyebrows, hooking his arm around my leg.

"I'm always your man, never forget that."

"Okay, baby." I teased.

I noticed that the ice cream was short staffed with just three girls. We walked in and stood by the counter.

"What may I get you?" one girl asked.

"Um, give us a second." I repsonded.

Kai and I spoke quietly to each other about what to order but I could slightly hear the workers talking.

"Oh he's so cute and sweet, getting his little sister ice cream." One said.

"Should I try to get his number?" another said.

"No~ I want his number." the other whined.

"Fine, but if he rejects you he's all mine."

The three giggled. I tried to signal to Kai but he was totally oblivious to it all, distracted by the 100 flavors of ice cream. I rolled my eyes.

"Ok, I wany pistachio ice cream." Kai ordered, the girl was giving him googily eyes which made something inside me want to hit her, but I held back and faked a smile at her while I ordered.
"And I want strawberry." she nodded and got busy.

I looked at Kai again, but his eyes were glued to the ice cream.

"He's looking at me, he's looking at me." I could hear the girls silently squeal...

"Here you are, one pistachio, one strawberry. " she handed me my ice cream without even looking at me.

"Wait, before you go, can I get your number?" she stopped him by catching his sleeve, he turned around with big eyes.

"Huh?"

"You're totally my type." she gave him a million dollar smile.

"Um, no thank you." he said awkwardly, trying to quickly leave but then the other girl stopped him, coming around the counter, blocking our path. She let her hip sway a little, flicking her hair over her shoulder.

"Then can I have your number?" she held up phone to him.

"I have a girlfriend." he said quickly, grabbing my hand and basically running out the store with me in tow. I peeked over my shoulder to see the girls' expressions and it was a mixture of sadness and jealousy, I couldn't help but smile at it.

I looked at Kai who as blushing wildly.

"Good boy." I cooed, ruffling his hair, pecking his cheek.

Fun fact: I haven't caught the common cold for more than 5 years, I realized that this wasn't common just today.
When was the last time you caught a cold?
