Jatin- Manik, Nandini lives with a girl named Navya,

Manik (cuts him)- I know her, she is Nandini's childhood best friend. Have you found out anything else?

Jatin- yes, a small girl also lives with them, she must be four or five years old. She seems to be quite close to Nand

Manik (interrupts him)- chuck that, she must be Navya's daughter, first tell me, Is there any guy in Nandini's life? Has she moved on?

Jatin- No Manik, there is no guy in her life. She is single.

Listening to this Manik released the breath that he didn't even know that he was holding. A soft smile appeared on his lips on realising that even Nandini had not moved on. He disconnected the phone.

Manik (to himself)- you are still my shining star, my Nandini and this time I will not let you walk away even if you want to.

He kept his phone on the side table and lied down on the bed. He closed his eyes to slip into the thoughts of his beautiful angel. A subtle yet content smile made it's way to his lips and after years he slept an undisturbed all-night sleep without being under the strong effect of liquor.

The Next Day,

Colours and Smiles Pvt. Ltd.

Sanya- ma'am Mr. Malhotra is here to discuss the progress of the reports.

Nandini- send him inside.

Manik entered her cabin and she gestured him to sit on the chair through her hand, without even lifting her eyes from the reports that were in her hands. Manik settled on the chair and looked at his woman sitting in front of him, looking as fresh as a blooming flower. He looked at her face that was glowing due to the sunlight peeping inside through the wooden coloured window blinds, making her look even more beautiful. She truly was the purest form of beauty existing in this world. He had a strong urge to tuck the hair strands that were tickling her rosy cheeks, behind her ears. His trance was broken due to a loud thud that was caused by the file that Nandini just kept on her desk. He saw her finding something in her drawer with a frown etched on her otherwise smooth forehead. He cleared his throat to gain her attention, but unfortunately, she was in no mood to spare him even a glance, so without any further delay Manik started speaking,

Manik- Nandi

He was interrupted by her sweet voice that came out in a sharp tone.

Nandini (cutting him)- its Ms. Murthy for you.

A smirked settled on his lips accompanied by a look of determination that shone in his eyes.

Manik(smirking)- why? Are you afraid that hearing your name from my mouth will melt your heart?

Nandini's snapped her eyes towards him and a painful smile adorned her lips.

Nandini-Melt my heart (chuckles painfully), for that first I will need to have a heart Mr. Malhotra. Anyways, we are here to discuss business, so it will better if we stick to that(sternly).

That painful chuckle poked Manik's heart with countless needles. Automatically, the smirk was wiped off of his lips and frown lines appeared on his forehead. This was not his Nandini. He had failed to recognize this Nandini. Had he hurt her so much that she had lost herself? Was he responsible for chopping of the wings of his angel? He came out of thoughts on listening to Nandini's voice,
