Julia's P.O.V

Monday

I walk out of my Chemistry class and head to the cafeteria to grab something to eat. I haven't spoken to or seen Leah since Saturday. She hasn't texted nor has she called me, and I decided to do the same. I can't really tell whether I miss her or not, but I'm certain that I'm still angry at her.

I take my tray and sit at my usual bench, and luckily Aaron and Chad aren't here to convince me to sit with them around their table. I plug in my ear pods and press play on I Drink Wine by Adele

In these crazy times I hope to find
Something I can cling on to
Cause I need some substance in my life
Something real, something that feels true

Everything is just a mess. With Leah being gone I feel like I have no one. Whenever I felt confused, angry, sad, overwhelmed, she was that substance in my life that helped me overcome all these crazy times.

But I'm definitely standing my ground on this one. I'm not speaking to her until she apologizes because she was wrong. Even if I'm on the edge of a mental breakdown, running to Leah won't be happening.

Oh, I hope I learn to get over myself
Stop trying to be somebody else
Oh, I just want to-

"Stuck deep in your thoughts, I see." Aaron said with a smile on his face.

"Yeah, I just wanted to clear my mind a bit." I said, taking out my ear pods and thereafter pressed pause.

"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked, sitting next to me.

"Leah and I had an argument, a heated one to top it off." I sighed.

"About?"

"You. She was saying bad things about you, calling you names and I just couldn't stand it. So I ended our friendship for you, for us." I said.

"Thank you." he smiled. "I want to say you did the right thing, but I don't want it to seem like I'm happy about the fact that you and her aren't friends because of me."

"Well, it's not your fault, so there's no need to feel guilty." I smiled and he smiled back in response.

"Okay, can we please head inside the cafeteria because it's quite chilly out here." he chuckled, rubbing his hands together.

"It's not that cold." I chuckled back whilst standing up, letting him take my tray from my hands.

We sit around the table with everyone else and Britney utters, "I honestly thought that I won't be seeing your face ever again."

And we're back to rude Britney.

"Get used to seeing her because she's here to stay. We're in a relationship." Aaron said, resting his arm around my neck.

"Since when?" she broke into a laugh whilst clapping her hands.

"Since Saturday."

"You're telling me that you two are dating?!" she asked loudly which causes everyone to gasp as they lay their eyes on us. Aaron nods in response. "For real?" she asked again.

"Yep." he replied, placing a light kiss on my cheek.

"Okay, okay. Good for you two."

I don't know why, but I somehow expected her to be jealous of me but it seems like she's not the type of person who gets jealous.

"My head has been pounding since Saturday." she laughed, placing her hand on it.

"You really were a mess." Chad chuckled.

"Did I sleep with anybody?"

Is it a trend for teenagers to sleep with one another at parties or what?

"Nope. Not that I know of." he replied to Britney with a smile. "All I know is that from now on, I'm going to monitor the amount of drinks that you have at a party." he added and she chuckles back in response.

"Anyways, we need to get going." she said whilst standing up and her friends do the same.

"Where are you going?" Aaron asked her.

"The gym. You'll find me there if you need me." Bella said, twirling her hair.

"In case you didn't notice, my girlfriend is sitting right here." he said, signaling towards my direction. "So please, respect her." he added, and she sucks her teeth in return.

"You are so embarrassing and it's not even funny." Britney rolled her eyes at her. "Anyways, we're going to practice some cheerleading moves for the upcoming game." she answered Aaron.

"Okay, see you later then." he replied and they leave the cafe.

"Hey Julia, are you okay? You don't look so good." Chad asked with concern visible in his eyes.

"I'll be fine." I said, giving him my best smile and he replies with a slight grin.

"You ready for the upcoming game?" Aaron asked Chad, removing his hand from my shoulders.

"Yeah. Even though we will be playing against the best team, I think I'm well prepared." he smiled. "And you?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"I don't know man." Aaron sighed.

"Seems like captain is going to chicken out." he uttered.

"Seems like it." I added, looking at Aaron through the corner of my eye.

"No, I won't." he scoffed. "I just feel a lot of pressure. I mean, we both know that coach expects me to do good in every game, and it seems like this one is going to be a tough one." he added, running his hand through his face whilst letting out a deep sigh.

"Just do what you always do." I shrugged, trying to make him feel at ease.

"The girl is right. You're always playing good, so I don't know why you're stressing now. Besides, you still have four days to practice, because the game is only on Friday."

"I guess you're right." he replied with a slight grin.

Didn't know that Aaron was the nervous type of person as well. There's alot to learn about this man.

Apologies for writing such a short and boring chapter,, my creative juices didn't want to cooperate with me :(

I got a message from someone earlier today, saying that my book is similar to the Player Next Door by BabyInACorner. I have NOT read the book before, and I haven't even heard of it. So, I did not copy the book at all. Yes, we may have a similar storyline and maybe similar chapters; but this is all just a coincidence.

I do not tolerate plagiarism AT ALL. Thank you for telling me about this matter, and I'm glad that we could clear this up <3
