"Captain, we're coming up on Elysium. Fucking hell, look at what these sleek som's of bitches did to the world. D'you know how many souls are on that world? How many fighters we got down there? Too damn many to count" James said as he flew the spacecraft closer to Elysium, and as we all looked at it converted to a purple color. As we landed, we saw the landing zone was surrounded by a large, thick forest.
"Keep your helmets on. Gas particles are still in the air" Jake said as the five of us walked out of the ship, and a squad of Automatons came out behind us. I looked around for a while, my rifle in hand as I looked at my wrist pad, transmitting the location of the strike team.
"Strike Team Nova is directly ahead. Two miles away." I said as I pointed towards the west "Automatons, keep guard over the ship. Imperator knows what creatures are on this planet now"
"Yes, Captain" The Automatons replied
"Team, let's move out" I said as the five of us walked through the thick forest, a whole wave of hell coming to us, unknowingly.
Light from the sun above barely peeved through the thick leaves on the trees. Everything ws of a purple color, and so sound emitted, except for the sounds of our boots pattering on the ground. Too quiet it was.
"I've been on this planet before. Not one jungle. Now look. This is a result of the Heretics." Jake said as we walked through the forest.
"It's getting darker. Light is barely passing through" Nick replied as it did indeed get darker.
"I'm aware. We need to focus on the mission" I said, but that was when we could hear a faint buzzing come by. Like a fly. As we looked around, that was when I saw a small flying creature come by us. It was around 3 times the size of a fly, and as it flew by Paul, he slowly reached over to touch it, but darted away quickly.
"What is it?" James asked
"Little bastard cut me. Sharp as a knife" Paul replied as he cover his bloody palm.
As the creature flew towards me, I quickly grabbed it and crushed it in my fist. A silent squeak coming from it. I dropped it on the ground as the others looked curiously at the creature.
"What is that?" Jake asked
"Beans." I replied, my voice getting deeper
"The Hive should have been destroyed along with Cryptos. They should all be dead." Nick said, but that was when loud buzzing could be heard coming from the distance, and a large swarm of Beans came flying to us.
"Run, now!" I shouted as the five of us quickly ran in the other direction.
I could hear loud buzzing coming a few feet behind me, and looking back I could see a massive swarm of Beans flying directly towards us, wanting to kill us all. We made a turn as the swarm followed behind, and there in the distance I could see a faint light.
"Over there, quickly!" I said as the other followed me behind, and we quickly ran out of the forest. As we ran out, the swarm didn't follow us. I ran back to the darkness.
"Guess they don't like the light, eh?" Nick asked me
"Seems so. The strike team is nearby. Onward" I said as the five of us continued through the hills.
The grass on the ground was of a pink and purple color, and no souls except ours was there. It was abandoned, it seemed. As we continued, we could hear faint growls and gunshots in the distance.
"That must be them, Captain" Paul said as we all quickly ran through the hills and arrived at a camp, being attacked by bird-like creatures. I gave the order to attack, as the five of us advanced on the creatures, massacring every single one. I approached the strike team leader as he looked up at me.
"Captain, what a blessing it is to see you here" The leader said
"What happened?" I asked
"Well, we were all underground at the time, but it all happened a few hours ago. This massive ship came up flying by the atmosphere and dropped this, missile, thing. We all hid underground once it hit, but we came back up to this." The leader explained
"Chloe was right" I said
"What, Captain?" Jake asked
"She spoke of nukes that Ross was making, capable of a planetary infection. This was the result of it" I responded
"What nukes?" The leader asked
"A long story. We need to stop the manufacturing process of the nukes. If Ross unleashes more of these, it'll kill billions. We cannot let that happen" I said
"Right, back to the ship then" James said as I called the ship in, and as I quickly flew to our location, hovering above. It slowly began to descend down, but that was when growling could be heard in the distance, and there I saw a horde of those creatures come towards us, and a swarm of Beans.
"We've got company" Nick said
"Strike Team Nova, do what you can to get yourselves on that ship as quickly as possible. The rest of us will defend" I said
"Captain, here, take this. Won't do much about the horde, but should do something about the Beans" The leader said as he handed me a large flamethrower
The creatures came as there five of us fired at them, burning, shooting, or stabbing them. Whatever got them killed. I pulled the trigger as a wave of fire burned the swarm, and with more and more coming we were getting surrounded.
"There's too many of them! We must retreat!" Jake shouted
"We cannot let them get to the ship!" I responded
Eventually, the horde and swarm lowered in numbers, giving us a chance to run.
"We've got a window! Let's get to the ship!" James said as we all ran to the ship as I slowly began ascending. I looked down and saw the horse grow again, but it was too late for them. The ships hatch closed.
"Nice one" I said
