As I prepared dinner for myself and Angelica, I decided to give Zane a call. "Angelica and I are having a sleepover tonight," I informed him. "Oh, really?" he responded, intrigued. "What are you guys planning on doing?" Curiosity tinged his voice. I shared our evening plans with him, mentioning that we were going to watch a movie and indulge in some delicious tacos, which I was currently in the process of making.

"Don't burn the tacos," he jokingly warned me, adding a touch of lighthearted concern. "Of course not. I'm a pro at making tacos," I told him confidently.

Angelica arrived with wine and snacks, and together, we settled down in front of the television. The cozy atmosphere set the stage for a delightful evening ahead. As we enjoyed our time together, reminiscing and catching up, Angelica brought up a fond memory from the past. She asked if I remembered our mischievous pranks on the boys at the billionaire boys club. A nostalgic smile formed on my face as I replied, "I still remember that. How could I forget?" We used to have so much fun concocting playful schemes to keep ourselves entertained.

Angelica's recollection prompted us to recall a specific incident involving water balloons filled with red coloring. We couldn't help but chuckle at the memory. "Yes," she exclaimed, her laughter mirroring mine. "Zane decided to take revenge by snipping off an inch of my hair after that prank. I was bawling my eyes out!" The image of Angelica's distressed face, tears streaming down her cheeks, resurfaced in my mind.

"That wasn't even the worst thing," I chuckled, recalling more memories. "Remember when we decided to play hide and seek in the club? I thought it would be a great idea to hide in the freezer, but then I got stuck!" The absurdity of the situation made us burst into laughter once again. Angelica's amusement was contagious as she joined in, her laughter echoing through the room. "Oh my god, yes! You were definitely the craziest among us. Why on earth would you do that?" she exclaimed between giggles.

Through my laughter, I managed to explain, "It was so terrifying at the time, but looking back, I couldn't help but find the whole experience amusing."

As our laughter subsided, Angelica shifted the conversation, asking about Zane. "Anyway," she continued, a hint of curiosity in her voice, "how are things going with Zane?"

"Things with Zane are going great. It almost feels too good to be true," I tell her with excitement, a hint of joy permeating my voice. As I fiddled with the fabric of my pajamas, a sense of contentment washed over me.

Angelica couldn't contain her enthusiasm, her face lighting up. "You guys are going to make such cute babies," she gushed, unable to contain her anticipation. I playfully slapped her arm, laughing at her forwardness. "Please, let the guy ask me to be his girlfriend officially first," I quipped, teasing her.

Her eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, he hasn't asked you yet?" she asked, a mix of confusion and curiosity in her tone. I shook my head, a small smile playing on my lips. "Well, not officially," I confessed, my voice laced with a touch of anticipation. "He says he will ask me when I'm in New York for the ball."

"Is that why you bought that gorgeous dress?"

"That's for the ball actually, you're going right?"

"Yes, of course, I'm also going to the ball," Angelica affirmed with enthusiasm. "I wouldn't miss it for the world." Her excitement was contagious, and I couldn't help but chuckle as I gathered the empty plates, preparing to take them to the kitchen. Angelica followed closely behind, her phone in hand. As I began washing the dishes, she scrolled through her phone, her expression gradually changing.

"I'm not sure if you're going to like this," she said, her voice tinged with concern. Confusion washed over me as I turned to face her. "What do you mean?" I inquired, my curiosity growing. With a deep breath, she showed me her phone, and my heart seemed to stop.

Time seemed to stand still as I stared at the screen, my breath catching in my throat. There, in vivid detail, was Zane and Savannah, looking intimately cozy in a restaurant. My mind struggled to comprehend the sight before me, and my chest tightened with a mix of shock, disbelief, and a pain I hadn't anticipated.

The world around me blurred as a rush of emotions flooded my senses. Betrayal mingled with heartache, forming an overwhelming cocktail that left me feeling paralyzed. Thoughts raced through my mind, trying to grasp the reality of the situation and make sense of the image before me.

"Why...?" I managed to utter, my voice barely a whisper. The words hung heavily in the air, carrying the weight of the shattered trust and the pain that threatened to consume me. I felt a lump forming in my throat, making it difficult to breathe, as tears welled up in my eyes.

Angelica stood beside me, her presence a mix of support and understanding. She reached out, placing a comforting hand on my arm. "I'm so sorry," she murmured, her voice filled with genuine sympathy. "I didn't want you to find out like this."

"Do you think they are just friends meeting up?" I managed to ask, my voice strained with a mix of hope and desperation. Angelica considered the question for a moment before responding. "It could be," she offered, her tone reflecting a glimmer of uncertainty.

The next question weighed heavily on my heart as I struggled to find the courage to ask. "When was it taken?" I choked out, dreading the answer. Angelica hesitated briefly before delivering the blow. "A few hours ago. I saw it on Savannah's story," she revealed, her words causing my breath to catch once again.

The revelation that Angelica had been following Savannah's social media accounts, despite not having a direct connection to her, caught me off guard. "You have Savannah on your socials?" I inquired, surprise evident in my voice. She shook her head, dismissing any notions of direct interaction. "No, her accounts are public. So, I just...stalked her and saw this," she confessed, her admission revealing the depths of her curiosity and concern for me.

A mix of emotions swirled within me-betrayal, hurt, and an overwhelming desire to understand the truth. "I think you should call Zane and ask," Angelica suggested, her voice filled with a sense of reason. "It's not good to jump to conclusions without giving him a chance to explain." Taking a deep breath, I nodded, acknowledging the wisdom in her words. I picked up my phone from the counter, my fingers trembling slightly as I dialed Zane's number. To my disappointment, it went straight to voicemail.

"It's going to voicemail," I relayed the information to Angelica, my voice betraying a mixture of frustration and concern. The fact that Zane hadn't answered my call, especially after talking earlier that day without any mention of meeting Savannah, only added to the mounting doubts and suspicions.

Angelica's response mirrored my own apprehension. "That's suspicious," she remarked, her tone laden with a sense of unease. The unanswered call and Zane's silence regarding his interaction with Savannah left a lingering sense of uncertainty and heightened my desire for clarity.

"I'm going to sleep," I said wearily, my voice reflecting the exhaustion that had settled within me. The weight of the situation and the flood of emotions had taken their toll, leaving me drained both physically and emotionally.
