Why?

Uh angst like a lot of angst ☹️😅

Evelyn wakes up the doorbell ringing Polly clinging to her. She moved Polly off of her replacing herself with a pillow and grabbing a robe to wrap around herself. She walks down the stairs opening the door the cool are rushing in giving her goose bumps. As she looks at the door she sees Charles and Lana
"What's the you both doing here?" Evelyn asks holding the robe closer to her Lana steps forward
"Are we able to come in we're here to talk about I next steps with Alfie." She says Charles nodding
"You both heard about it?" Evelyn asks

"Well yes it's not that hard hearing about business around here." Charles says looking around the house
"Okay we can talk soon, but I need to change and do a few things right quick." Evelyn says walking back up the stairs the other two getting comfortable on the couch.

Evelyn opens the door seeing Polly sitting up in bed looking at her displeased.
"I woke up to you not being in bed, why?" Polly asks
"Sorry Pol I didn't want to disturb you. You were too adorable, and I thought it was one of the boys who knocked but no it was Lana and Charles so you might want to get ready." Evelyn gives Polly a rundown as she starts to put a right green blouse on with lace and black pants.
"Why did they come down they haven't been here for a long while now?" Polly asks as she gets out of bed walking to their vanity

"Oh, they just want to talk to about Alfie." Evelyn says walking behind Polly to brush out her hair
"What is your day set for?" Evelyn asks
"Oh...I don't really know." Polly says Evelyn's eyebrows knitting together from her response but she doesn't question it.
"Okay." Evelyn says flatly still trying to figure out what she meant Polly changes into a black hat with a long black stripped coat with a almost black floral designed dress under it. They walk down the stairs Lana waiting Charles impatient

"Now are we ready to talk." Charles asks bluntly rolling his eyes Polly looking between the man and Evelyn.
"Do you always let this insufferable prick talk to you like this?" Polly whispers to Evelyn
"He's always a grumpy old man don't worry." Evelyn says sitting on the sofa next to Lana Polly pecking her lips.
"I'll see you later dear." Polly says looking back at Charles glaring at him

As Polly walks out Charles speaks up
"What's wrong with her?" He says Evelyn sits back on the sofa
"She called you a insufferable prick I would say your on thin ice that's what's wrong." Evelyn says flatly changing the subject fast
"So I know we all know that Alfie double crossed the Shelby's and that we are connected with the Shelby's now." Evelyn says
"Clearly." Charles says Evelyn eyeing him
"So we can't really get rid of any of them, so what I've done already is talk with Alfie he knows he can't lose us or his business is gonna go to shit." Evelyn says

"I feel that maybe we should just give up on Mr.Solomon's at this point." Lana says to the group
"Yeah I second that." Charles says
"Yes well I don't think so this is only his first mess up and it hasn't affected us it just affects others in our business. So I say we should see how this plays out interfere if we need to. This is after all my decision being your boss." Evelyn says  crossing her legs getting bored of the conversation

"But with all due respect I think that's a horrible I feel as though we should get rid of some allies even if we are close with them." Charles says Evelyn looking at the man sizing him up done with his bull.
"Are you questioning my authority Charles? To me that was told with no respect and I feel as though if you don't close your mouth now I will do worse than fire you." Evelyn says glaring into the man almost into his soul. The man cowering into his seat

Evelyn does a sly smile
"That's what I thought." Evelyn looks at Lana
"Some men really just don't know their place do they?" Evelyn says asking a rhetorical question Lana slightly humming.
"So continuing on with this discussion...." They discuss for a while a knock coming at the door
"Excuse me." Evelyn says standing up and opening the door
"Ada?" Evelyn asks the girl standing at the door
