  Tomorrow: SR-71

"Good morning." Clark enters the diner as I refill the coffee pot.

"It was." I reply.

"That line is really getting old." He sits down at the counter.

"Still irks you, though. It ain't ever dying down." I start making his coffee.

"Can I see a menu?"

"You need to see a menu?" I hand him his coffee.

"Yes." Clark nods.

"You come here everyday."

"I know, but I usually order the same thing, and today, I'm in the mood for something a little different."

"Menu." I raise my eyebrows.

"Piece of paper, list of food offered."

"Okay, here. It's not in Japanese." I hand him a menu.

"Can it be, though?" He looks up.

"If you don't order your usual blueberry pancakes with bacon, I am going to skillet the insides of your brain."

"Blueberry pancakes with bacon, please." He sets the menu down.

"Smart guy." I turn.

"You think I'm smart?"

"That line is really getting old."

"Still irks you, though. It ain't ever dying down."

"Yeah, it will."

"According to who?"

"Me. And the day that you irk me is the day I find God." I head to the kitchen.

"When do you get off?" Clark calls out.

"Half hour, why?"

"I was gonna go to Lex's. You wanna come?"

"As long as you don't open the car door for me." I start making the pancake mix.

"No promises." He tells me and I shake my head as I grab the blueberries from the fridge.

I put the fruit in the pancake mix and then stir it in the bowl. I then put the batter in a piping bag and grab a top for it. I make his pancakes and then grab the bacon from the fridge. I make it extra crispy, but not too much that it burns.

I set three pancakes on top of one another and then drizzle syrup on it. I now grab a bottle of whipped cream and squirt dollops around the bottom pancake. I place the four pieces of bacon beside it and cap the whipped cream. I pick up the plate and head out, serving him in his food.
